Clair & Dee's. My goodness these guys were a savior for us. Long story short. Broken brake line while in the park. Already on edge. Mechanic options are limited in West Yellowstone. We were on our final day of our vacation of the park and this happened. We called everyone. Original intake through Point S was putting us 4 days beyond our original visit.
I took a gamble and spoke to one of the mechanics and described my situation (Nick). He heard me and took my vehicle to be seen between appointments.
Later we had phone calls talking about what could be done. His fellow mechanic (Will) came in as the phone call was happening and gave us hope. The local parts store could have the needed part. And they could get out the following morning. Its the season when they are usualy closed on weekends. But they offered with no strings attached to take care of us if the part came in.
To wrap up. The part came in. They did a amazing job. Wife and I tipped them becuase they are heros, without them we would have been stranded. The wife without meds. Spending hundreds on hotels with no guarantee that we would have a room come Monday or Tuesday, and away from our pets at home.
Long story short. I feel this place is one of those places that will truly take care of you. They will give you the bad news and talk about it. They will walk through options. And also willing to adapt. Goodness I owe so much to them to get us on the road safely.
Long story short(er). Point S is full of very qualified individuals that love thier craft. They helps us get home (690 miles) and the repair could last for a very long time. Its like an actual OEM repair.
If you ever have a repair. And need help like you did. Please go to these guys. NICK AND WILL ARE HEROS. (In my book).

Read moreWhile vacationing in our motorhome in Yellowstone we developed a flat tire on our rig. These tires were just installed in California and were brand new. We suspected an issue with the valve stem or the bead seating on the tire as opposed to a puncture. We contacted Goodyear for the warranty on tires manufactured by them and installed by their shop. We got nothing but the run around. It would be many hours (or even days) to have someone respond from Cody, Wyoming or Idaho Falls. It was going to cost thousands of dollars and I was going to have to keep the old tire so I could later prove it was a defect to the tire and not some fault of my own. Ridiculous, Goodyear!
We luckily rolled into Clair & Dee's at about 10AM to see if there was anything they could help with. After speaking with the pleasant staff, they said they would attempt to squeeze me in by 3 pm as they already had several appointments. We agreed as Goodyear told us it could be days and that we would have to buy a new tire from them, just in case it was a tire issue.
By 1pm Point S staff was working on our motorhome, in the rain no less, and identified in fact the valve stem installed was too short and inferior. They replaced the valve stem and buttoned it back up with no issues. We were on the road by 2:30 PM.
Two weeks later and zero tire issues later, we could not be more grateful to the staff at Point S. They could have easily dismissed us but instead delivered top notch service when we needed it most. Thanks again to Clair &...
Read moreI unfortunately had 2 tire issues on 2 seperate trips to West Yellowstone. The guy who runs this place is honestly one of the nicest business owners you will ever come across. My first issue was on our transit van threw a tire sensor trouble code on our way into town. Stopped at the tire shop and he quickly knew the issue was over pressure in the tires. He took the time to help me out blow down the pressure and refused to take my money for his time. My second issue was 5 weeks later while on an elk hunt. I somehow ran over a screw and figured out after 7 days in the back country that I had a flat. Only having 1 day to get it repaired before flying out I headed to Point S to see if they could help me out last minute. I dropped the tire off and a few hours later they called me to come pick the tire up. They plugged it, swapped it out with the spare, and put the spare back in place. Being the only tire shop in town they literally have a monoply in the area and they're still cheaper than my hometown garage. Just an honest business that does quality work for an honest price. You can't ask for...
