I have never been treated so badly by any business in my life. Unfortunately his employees are along for the ride but the owner is extremely rude, egotistical, insulting and patronizing. I brought in a high end GIA certified color change sapphire upon the owners request. Upon arrival I could loudly hear his grumbling from the office accusing me of bringing in a fake stone because he didn't even know that color change sapphires existed until his employee explained that it was indeed a stone that actually exists. Next he grumbled at my GIA paperwork because it was in a clear plastic sleeve which he was unfamiliar with most likely due to being unfamiliar with the current format GIA sends its reports. Next he DROPPED MY STONE then acted quite defensive and insulting when I inspected it for damage. Things went even further down hill as he told me "to sell that junk in outer space because nobody in this world wants it" then he tried to give me an extremely insulting lecture on how much I don't know about gem stones, although he didn't even know that color change sapphires existed until ten minutes before hand. At this point I told him I wasn't interested in his lecture, his employee even jumped in and told him nobody wanted to hear any more of his rudeness. He then told me to "get the f out". I remained courteous and told them to have a nice day as they continued to argue as I left. Athena's is the absolute last place in town you should ever take your business...

I had an heirloom ring repaired, dropped it off on a Saturday and picked it up the following Wednesday. For starters, the repairs cost me less than a third of what I'd been quoted at other jewelry stores, even family owned (non-chain) stores. The service, friendliness, and support you get at Athena is second to none. Steve truly treats his customers like family. My wife's wedding ring was designed and built by hand at Athena, from a sketch that I gave Steve, and it came out great. My wife works hard with her hands, and that ring has taken a beating every day for 13 years and remains in perfect shape and is just as beautiful as ever.
