Update on 23 Feb 2020. Customers had to leave the "motel" at midnight because of the cold shower offer with attempts NOT TO REFUND. By the way, we now understand why they insisted we go through Agoda to get our money back. It is not because we booked through it but because he CANCELLED our booking as if we did not stay there rather than initiate a REFUND! By doing this we cannot make a formal review on AGODA!!! Back to the points, see their message below after failing to call us. 1. Trying to make our review like a competitor's trick!! 2. Admitted what I said but nothing about improvement but required understanding. Original Review: Worst hotel I experienced in Vietnam in the last 12 months. High score reviews might be fake. Cheap but not that cheap and not worth. 300 meters away, Hai Bay and next door, are much better options at similar price range. This "boutique hotel" is just a ONE STAR motel. See the pictures and you know I don't lie. 1. Terrible facilities: 1) We were allocated a room on Level 8, where the lift only goes to level 6. 2) A tiny small room. It is claimed to be 30sqm but only 15sqm. 3) Really dirty! The bed sheets are super dirty, including marks, black dust or something we can't tell. 4) It has a broken hot water system. We called the reception and get the technician checked. It still doesn't work, so we requested a change of room. We were told to enjoy the cold shower at the temperature of 15 degree. They would say we didn't show up. Then we were offered a refund in cash under the condition of "No Review" on Agoda. When we later arrived at the reception we were told they cannot give us a refund but we need to contact Agoda. My husband discussed with him in Vietnamese and the manager advised he would approve a full refund through Agoda. We requested a written confirmation. Agoda finally helped us. During this process, there was a Middle East man coming out threatened me with violence not to talk to Agoda because he needed to sleep. ??? Pardon me? Why a talk at the reception will affect his sleep far in his room? and violence? Luckily I have a husband to protect me. How anout other girls? 5) NO HAND WASH!!!! When the COVID virus is spreading, they don't offer hand wash, not even a piece of soap. 6) No other basic amenities except tooth brush. 7) Please have a look at my picture for the hot water machine. 8) This hotel has an entrance in a very small and dark terrace, dark and dirty. 9) The water cattle is broken. I don't know what it has been used for. 2. Terrible Services: 1) Asked us to have cold shower at 15 degree weather. 2) Reluctant to do refund when the hotel room has faulty badic facilities, and would report us as no-show to take our money when we obviously we shew up. 3) Having someone come to threaten a lady with violence! Girls! Keep yourselves safe. Don't book this hotel. Well, maybe this hotel either has rooms with no sound proof walls or doors. Who knows? 4) Agoda called on behalf of us to have a confirmation. The manager answered the call but refused to approve straightaway but would like to delay to the next day. Btw, this manager is called Danny (Đạt). 3. Reviews may be FAKE!!! They don't let prople make true reviews in all sorts of means. By the way, my experience of booking hotels in Vietnam. 1. Don't pay by card online first. The price might not be the cheapest. Even if it is cheap online, you may bring this to the hotel and ask them to match! Too many uncertainties so don't pay by card and leave you with more options. 2. Price is always negotiable! Read comments 1! We negotiated a super good deal in Vung Tao with a 5 star hotel and it was the best of the best. 3. Read the lowest score reviews (this is true anywhere though). 4. Always book 4 star and above. It is not that much expensive, unless you wanna meet someone like that Middle East guy. 5. Do not let them take your passport. They need to take a picture or scan but don't give it to them. You know why. 6. Bring your own slippers. You need slippers in Vietnam. In terms of towels and other things, it is up to you.

The hotel ok and staff friendly but when we booked Ha long bay 1 day 4 stars Alova premium cruises with them it turn out to a our worst NIGHTMARE!!!!! They offer my family with 5 pax one day tour to Ha Long Bay with Alova 4 stars cruise for 4300000vn dong (187 USD) that deal for their guests only. Ms Rosa Pham told us that Alova cruise is the only one they booked with for their customer. When she sell us the tour we were really happy so we booked the tour. When we got back and complained that the tour we went on not with Alova cruise and not like the itinerary at all. They said sorry, we went at their busy time the tour we booked are booked out. They had to put us on another boat. That boat didn't really take us around to see HLBay at all otherwise l properly wouldn't complain. I booked the tour on my last day in Hanoi so there no time for me to go again with different company so I get to cruise the Bay and see the beauty off it. They ruined Ha Long Bay trip for as and didn't refund any of the tour money to us either. This is the worst scam we experience and same too the family of 4 pax stayed there and booked the same tour like us. I can't leave this review on booking because I don't know why it show my stayed got cancelled on booking.

This is a great place to stay! Helpful staff, decent rooms, great value! I don’t understand any of the reviews on here - the rooms are clean (much cleaner than the other two hotels on this street we stayed in) and spacious, there are no bugs (I’m very picky about bugs) and it’s not moldy at all. It’s pretty simple, and def not fancy, but not at all a bait and switch. Not sure what hotel they’re reviewing! It’s not luxury, but it’s absolutely not what the reviews describe - see photos! This is the only hotel in Hanoi we stayed at (we tried three on this street) that offered us taxi service for the actual price of the taxi and they were super kind and let us rent a small room on the bottom floor for the day when we had a stopover in Hanoi. We’ve stayed here three times and it’s great for budget travelers.

This hotel is dirty, infested and in poor condition. People should stay away at all costs. The building front advertised on Google is not the hotel. Instead, you are in an alley in a building that has never seen a mop or vacuum. They actually use a bait and switch by attempting to move me to another hotel and by giving a room requiring stairs.
