Decent hotel at great location and good breakfast spread. Breakfast spread was one of the best during our whole stay in Vietnam.||However, there were issues like soiled curtains, bench very very dirty with lot of marks on it(something you cannot oversee), bunch of hair in your bed. Room furniture definitely needs renovation, don't go by the pictures posted online it is an old property that needs renovation. Its a decent hotel for 2-3k INR, I paid 4K+ INR for 1 night which I feel is a bit on higher side for a property in this state.||||The guy at the reception was not v welcoming (or racist, not sure). We reached at 2am, since the hotel is not on main road it was difficult to locate it even through google maps. The grab driver called him, after 5mins he came out with 2 other guests who were checking out. He asked our grab driver to take them to their destination and then just went away. Without greeting us or asking us to follow him or helping us with our luggage even when we were with a small kid. I asked my grab driver is he the person from our hotel, then our driver told us to follow him. He just kept walking without even turning back once to see if we are even following him or not. At the time of checkin he asked us for our morning plans and I told him that we have early morning pickup for Halong Bay tour, so for that he got our breakfast packed I liked that part and thought may be last night he might not be in a good mood.||||Then next day my husband got hurt on his foot v badly. We asked him if hotel has some basic first aid like antiseptic to clean the wound etc. to our surprise nothing was available at the reception. In such situation I would expect hotel to arrange something but he bluntly said at 11pm that all nearby medical shops are closed. When we checked there were many 24 hours open pharmacy's around. We arranged for the first aid ourselves. All I'm trying to tell is such basic services are missing at this hotel.||||Moreover, when we came back with medical supplies he didn't bother to even check if we could find something or not and also next day morning he didn't even feel like asking about the injury at breakfast or during checkout. Very cold vibes from the guy. He is definitely in a wrong profession. However girl staff at the reception are quite good and they do take interest in knowing how guests' stay is going and all. Also, special mention for the staff at the restaurant is also very nice and polite.||||Only night shift reception guy's behaviour we found v rude and inconsiderate with guests which definitely needs to...
Read moreSNAPSHOT: LBDH is a small, charming hotel located in the heart of the bustling Old Quarter and within easy walking distance of the city lake. Though not spacious, our room was nevertheless comfortable, as well as quiet and clean. No ceiling fan installed, but A/C works very well. Bathroom set-up is good with a shower/tub combo and the usual essentials. Hot water is strong. Wifi is variable in room; much better in lobby. Room features include a cable TV, complimentary coffee/tea/bottled water offerings, chargeable minibar and wardrobe safety box. Good quality buffet breakfast (6.30-9.30), but limited choices (Asian/western). Tourist shops, street food and restos on the doorstep. Airport is one hour by Grab/taxi (see advisory below). Reception team is wonderful - friendly and very, very helpful. Highly recommended accommodation overall.||BE AWARE: The hotel is actually located down an narrow alleyway with no car access. Best address to alleyway entrance on the main street is 6 Dinh Liet Street. Our driver got lost by using exact hotel location (15 Trung Yen Lane). Hand carry your bags 20 metres down alleyway. Hotel is on RHS. Alley pavement is ok for roller luggage. Watch for motorbikes. The hotel does not have a pool or gym. Only breakfast is available. Lift access is six floors only. Need to walk up stairs for rooms on 7th floor. Web room photos are the "enhanced" version. While our room was overall good, expectations need to be realistic; 4-star quality it is not.||POSITIVES: Charmingly "compact" hotel with only 34 or so rooms. We stayed four nights in the Junior Suite with Balcony on the very top floor. The balcony is small and narrow, but offers rooftop views. Tasteful decor, but getting tired. Our room was not as dark as some other reviewers have opined, but it probably depends on room type booked and floor assigned. ||ADVICE: City tour by double-decker bus is very worthwhile, but do a web search to find the best deals. Options include: no stops-one ride only and 4 hour/24 hour both of which are the multiple hop-on hop-off format. Avid photographers will admire the view looking down the hotel stairwell with its myriad of colourful hanging lanterns.||SHOUT-OUT: The reception staff are just wonderful! Autumn and Alice in particular made our stay a most memorable one taking care of our enquiries, needs and external issues involving a flight cancellation. Both Autumn and Alice are outstanding employees in our opinion, but the whole reception team (including Quang, Joey and Clara) needs a...
Read moreOverall our stay at the La Beaute De Hanoi was good, the price was right, the location great and the rooms were clean and adequate. There is food, great shopping and yummy coffee cafes just steps away. ||My Lee, their "cruse director" set up our airport pickup which was helpful since this was our first stop in Vietnam and dealing with airports transfers can be hectic. Its much more expensive than using Grab but since it was our first stop I was willing to pay more for a smooth transfer. ||The location of La Beaute is fantastic. While there are no amazing views from the rooms the hotel is located down a quaint side street which offers a bit of peace. It is very close to the center of action and difficult to get cabs directly there so to use Grab or to get on your tour bus you will need to go a few streets over; no issues just an FYI. ||Our room was on the "outside" of the hotel so we were able to hear the dance music late into the night but it was muted and did not cause any sleep disruptions. Another member of our party had a room on the back side of the hotel and had peace an quiet. Our AC units all worked and while they never got as cool as we would like we all slept just fine. Showers were good and the rooms were clean and neat.||Its a franken hotel, meaning the building was once two or three separate buildings that have been combined, but they have done it well and the shared spaces are all attractive and nice to spend time in, like the breakfast area. ||Breakfast was included with our stay and it was adequate, nothing to write home about but plenty to get you started for the day and everyone loved the fresh fruit and yogurt. ||The staff was helpful before we arrived and during our stay. I booked most of our activities on my own before we arrived but asked the hotel to book us a one day excursion and they made that process seamless. ||Of note, like many hotels in Vietnam I was unable to fully pay in advance so upon arrival we either needed to pay with credit and accept the steep service fee or spend the day seeking out multiple ATMs (good luck finding one that works) and pull out gangster levels of cash. We opted for the steep fee credit fee. |I would definitely...
