One of the worst experiences I’ve had in terms of service. Rooms were damaged and smelled like mold, and no windows in the rooms besides a tiny window in the bathroom. Regardless, that wasn’t the worst part about our experience. We used their laundry service, which, according to what the receptionist said - “make clothes smell good but can’t clean them” I wish we knew that before we gave our clothes to laundry. We paid extra price (they charge more than regular laundry services) and all of our white clothes were as dirty as they were before the laundry. When I asked for a refund because our clothes were still dirty, I was laughed at by the receptionist, and had to explain to her that laundry doesn’t mean only good smell, but also clean clothes… no luck on this one, she didn’t try to understand and I wasn’t allowed to talk to anyone but her. After a long and irritating discussion, she gave me back some of the sum, saying “this is from my own pocket, because the hotel can’t return to you” only to “get me off their back”.. off course I didn’t took it. And don’t get me started on the weird way they don’t let you out after 23:00, or the weird hotel law that said you have to take at least one local tour with them… good location, under average rooms, terrible...

This was by far the worst and most disturbing hotel experience of my life. The moment we walked into the room we were met with ants crawling on the bed and the unmistakable feces of bed bugs right on the sheets. After seeing cockroaches in the lobby, this was the final confirmation that this “hotel” is nothing short of filthy.
When we brought it to the staff’s attention, their response was to offer to change the sheets — as if that could magically erase an infestation. Anyone who knows about bed bugs understands they hide deep in the mattress, the bed frame, and even the walls. Simply putting on fresh sheets is a cruel joke, not a solution.
There were no other rooms available, and since we had been forced to pay the entire stay in advance, we asked for our money back. Instead of showing any care or responsibility, the manager told us we should “just get over it and sleep there.” This is beyond outrageous. After arguing, we were grudgingly refunded one night out of three — even though we didn’t stay a single night and they could easily resell the room.
This is not just bad service, it is a blatant disregard for the health and safety of guests. A place like this should not even be allowed to operate. If you value your health, your comfort, and your dignity, stay as far away from this hotel...
Read moreGolden Sun Hotel Hoi An tried to charge me, even though I already paid for my room through Expedia. A young guy at the desk kept telling me to pay and never looked up my reservations. It's not a good move in a customer service business! It's a large room which is nice. Definitely needs a fresh coat of paint! The room had a push-button keylock, so I really didn't feel comfortable leaving my things in the room as I wandered the town. When you shower, you also get the whole restroom and toilet wet since it's not enclosed. I tried to check out at the "24 hr front desk" around 5a so I could beat the heat some during my 11 mile walk to Da Nang(remember, no bus... Google lied), but no one was there till 6a. The owner, I'm guessing, opened the gate and lock as he walked in. He looked over towards me, sitting there waiting and said something that sounded like, "What?". Then, I was able to check out. I'll never get that time back. I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless it was the last spot available in a 50-mile radius. It's bad enough that a bus doesn't come this way from the airport (Again, don't trust Google on buses in this area except #6 which everyone should use for Da Nang!)...
