I had booked a Rice Paddy View Room for two days through booking.com and when I reached the hotel, I was allotted a different room. Upon checking, I was shown the booking that they had received which is a different one. The fare of that room for two days was not even close to what I had paid for. I was denied of any help instantly by the female receptionist who also did not take any interest in helping me out whatsoever.
The next day there was another guy in the morning and I reached out to him again. He immediately connected me to the owner of the property which i really appreciate, who explained to me that there is a partner involved in this booking apart from booking.com who has sent them a wrong booking. He denied refund of the rest of the money and asked me to reach out to the booking.com customer service team in Amsterdam from Vietnam and also denied making international calls from the hotel. I had to reach out to them only on apps and mails and they are even worse and dealing with this in an absolutely pathetic way possible.
The owner’s point was that he hadn’t received the money for the original room booked and hence cannot make any refund. Despite understanding his point, as a customer, I expected the hotel to help me deal with this at the least as they would ideally know people on the other end that they can take help from. The major disappointment was at the denial of any help from the very beginning.
*Food options for vegetarians are just a few. But, they have large variety of desserts and fruits to choose from and they extend good help with any request you have with respect to food.
*Currency exchange and bike hiring rates are comparatively higher in the hotel. Would suggest considering shops outside.
*Rust in kettle was not cleaned properly and could find few bugs running around.
But overall, the place looked clean and they were ready to offer any other help within the property and also suggested multiple places to check out and helped with planning the itinerary.
I WOULD SUGGEST BOOKING THEM THROUGH OTHER SITES AND NOT BOOKING.COM. They also denied me of any help and have asked me to take this to the hotel again but clearly it's of no use. I have lost my...
Read moreI previously shared a review for Iris Villa Hoian through my Expedia account, but today I'm excited to post one on Google Maps as well.
Last year, I embarked on a lengthy journey through Vietnam, starting with the cities of Hue, Da Nang, and Hoi An. Hoi An was a new destination for me, and when I arrived, David warmly welcomed me. He enthusiastically introduced me to a range of activities available during my two-day stay, and he took great care to help me appreciate the local culture. He arranged a cooking class, a coconut boat ride, and right off the bat, he scheduled a body massage at Ylang Ylang spa. A driver even picked me up right from the villa—talk about convenience! 😍
During my stay, I enjoyed breakfast at the villa on both mornings 😋—a habit I’ve developed when traveling solo as it adds to the comfort and ease of dining at home. The staff, along with the owner and her brother, were incredibly respectful and attentive to their guests, which I truly appreciated. I found myself chatting with them during breakfast, and as someone who has spent most of her life living abroad, this warmth made me feel right at home. I also met a Canadian couple who had been staying at the villa for three months. On my last day in Hoi An, I felt a wave of emotion wash over me 🥹 as I shared in their sentiments. Although I had hoped to return to Hoi An before ending my trip in Vietnam, things got quite hectic.
One last thing I cherished was the delightful scent of the laundry from the villa. After Hoi An, I traveled through several provinces in Vietnam, but no other accommodations provided the same sense of tranquility. I still vividly remember the moment just before I got into the cab to head to Da Nang. It wasn’t a feeling of sadness; rather, it was one of inspiration ❤️.
I look forward to returning to this wonderful villa...
Read moreI had a beautiful stay here with my partner. Hoi An Ancient Town is a must see if you're visiting Central Vietnam, and the team at this hotel made our stay even better. Our room was absolutely beautiful, overlooking rice paddies, farmers, ducks and geese. The hotel is walking distance from the best part of Hoi An, the amenities are comfortable and modern, and the included breakfast delicious. Thung (David) arranged a car to drive us in from Danang Train Station, greeted us warmly when we arrived, and took the time to introduce us to the town and recommend tours, restaurants, tailors and more. We decided to take him up on some of his recommended tours which he proceeded to arrange and book for us to pick us up and drop us off directly to the hotel, at no extra charge, and billed us all together at the end of our stay. We were also able to rent bicycles and mopeds to get around, and have our clothes laundered. Annie was also a lovely host and assisted us with making our stay comfortable. I cannot imagine a better place to have stayed, and if I'm lucky enough to come back to Hoi An I will be staying here again. If I could give 6 stars I would. Thanks again to all of your staff who made our...
