Please be aware when you pay for the 200 KC entry fee with credit card they will run it as a wire transfer and therefore incur an additional cash advance fee by your credit card company. That’s what happened to me. The transaction should’ve been ran as a credit NOT wire transfer which was what they did to me. I only discovered it much later when I saw the cash advance fee on my statement. Very shady!
As for the poker room, the furniture is a bit outdated with wooden chairs and lackluster worn out cushions that offer zero support so you feel sunk in when sitting. Most poker rooms have leather chairs with wheels nowadays so I believe it’s time for an update. Although there’s no smoking allowed in the room they do allow vaping which I still dislike but no choice if you want to play poker here. And I have to hold my breath for at least 1-2 minutes if I want to use the restroom because everyone smokes cigarettes in there. So gross!!! As for the players, most are friendly and there were some regs but most play fit fold so it’s exploitable if you have any skills at all. They usually only have 2-3 tables of $1/$2 running on the weekends. So not much for table selection. Rake is a killer though at 5% and capped at 350 KC (-$14-$15) So you need to win at least 1 big pot an hour or it’s not really beatable. One positive note most of the dealers are fairly efficient and know what they’re doing except for one dealer who made a mistake of chopping a pot when one guy had KJ vs one with K6 on KQQ33 board. I had to stop him and say no KJ gets the pot. No one noticed except me smh So you just have to pay attention and make sure the dealers don’t make mistakes. They’re human after all so it happens from time to time. Also the cocktail waitresses here are gorgeous as are all Eastern European women. And since the rakes are high nobody tips the dealers unless it’s a massive pot. May I also suggest the tables be 9 handed so that players get more hands per orbit. That’s how most casinos and card rooms are in America so that’s what I’m used to. I love Prague and would love to play here more often if only they ban smoking altogether whether it be cigarettes or vaping. But sadly I don’t think that’ll ever happen in Europe where I find majority of the population still smokes. Guess I’ve been spoiled living...
Read moreI went to the casino this evening, if you are anything close to a serious player AVOID IT. I attempted to get an amount of money from the cashier that wasn’t available through the ATM and she rudely (seriously, I’m a very direct person with thick skin and she was beyond abrasive) directed me to the machine. I then asked the nearest “pit boss” who was less rude but unhelpful as well.
I finally just went to the ATM and maxed it out (no way I’m trying a marker here), at which point I sat down at a poker table, only to be told by the aforementioned “boss” that I had too much to be there. I then asked for an alternate table to be placed on, which I was told didn’t exist and that it was the “other” pit boss’s problem since he only supervised poker not blackjack. He was so kind as to point me to the blackjack “boss” who then told me nothing could be done and essentially walked off laughing because he only had one table (with no spots open and a crowd behind) and that was it.
Mind you, I am in their establishment wanting to gamble significant sums on games that are not in my favor. If I owned this place, that wouldn’t be how I trained my staff. They not only lost an opportunity to win off of a potential customer, but were rude and disrespectful in the process.
I finally found a seat at a blackjack table I was welcomed at, unlike the poker, and played for about 30 min, tipped well, and left without issue but highly disappointed.
Summary: if you’re not used to gambling and can tolerate abrasive staff, go here. If you want to have a proper experience and be treated as a customer and not waste, I would avoid it.
PS- This post isn’t abt me losing $$, I did cash out for a bit less than I bought in for, approx 2% less and if you include what was given to the dealer (I was the only player doing so) in the 30 min I was at the table I was more than equally up. This is not an “I lost my money and am unhappy” post....
Read moreOne of the worst casinos in Europe, and certainly the worst in the Czech Republic. I came to play a bit, I lost 6000 CZK on slot machines, I switched to live game and lost 21000. I asked the manager about the cashback, because in every casino in the Czech Republic you have 10% return on live game, but they answered me that I lost 18,000 and the limit was 20,000, in order to get a refund. I know exactly how much I put in, but it doesn't matter, I put in another 6500, which is 27500, and according to them it's 24500. I asked again for a refund, and then they told me that I can only get it after 10 visits. Very funny and sad. In several casinos in Prague I got a refund after the first game, and here they invent rules just to not refund you. I'm a big player, I've lost a lot of money in various casinos, luckily for me I only lost 33500 in my first game, and I'll never step into this trap again. One more thing, the staff is very unprofessional, 3 hours into the game no one asked me if I wanted a drink. Dealers and managers laughed at people who lose, very...
