A fantastic dining experience with exceptional hummus and warm hospitality
During my recent trip to Prague, I had the pleasure of dining at Jaffa Restaurant, and I can honestly say it was one of the highlights of my visit. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome. Their friendliness and genuine hospitality created a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately put me at ease.
The menu offered a wonderful selection of Middle Eastern dishes, but what really stood out was the hummus — honestly, one of the best I’ve ever tasted. It was creamy, perfectly seasoned, and had just the right balance of flavors. Whether you’re a hummus lover or just trying it for the first time, Jaffa’s version is a must-try. Alongside the hummus, I enjoyed fresh pita bread and some delicious falafel that were crispy on the outside and tender inside.
The overall quality of the food was excellent, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors that transported me straight to the Middle East. Portions were generous, and the presentation was both simple and elegant. I also appreciated that the menu included options suitable for vegetarians and vegans, making it a great spot for a diverse group of diners.
What made the experience even better was the attentive and friendly service. The staff were knowledgeable about the dishes and eager to offer recommendations without being pushy. They checked in regularly to make sure everything was perfect, which made the meal feel personalized and cared for.
The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and relaxed, perfect for a casual lunch or a leisurely dinner. The décor had a nice balance of modern and traditional touches, enhancing the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, Jaffa Restaurant is a gem in Prague. The combination of fantastic food, especially their outstanding hummus, and warm, attentive service makes it highly recommendable. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this place offers a wonderful culinary experience that you won’t forget. I will definitely return next time...
Read moreShort version: we’ve been to Prague twice recently and we ate here four times! And it wasn’t nearly enough. We could eat here every day! ———————- Long version: I lived in the Middle East for several years. I LOVED the food there. Since then, in every city I visit, the first thing I do is look for the best “hummus joint”. I’m not exaggerating when I say that the last time I had food this tasty and genuine was in the actual city of Jaffa itself.
The staff is welcoming, charming, hospitable and, frankly, they’re all really good looking. Normally, I wouldn’t bring looks into a review, but are all the men and women here models? 😂
We were immediately struck by the beautiful atmosphere, both indoors and outside in the atrium. They really went out of their way to make it a comfortable environment. And immaculately clean!
Within minutes of being seated, pickles and olives and warm pita were brought out. The waiters are super friendly with genuine smiles and the food… just so good. Meze platters, shish tauk, everything was so delicious - and plentiful.
And you know it’s legit when, after the dishes are cleared, out comes the silver tray with steaming glasses of sweet mint tea. I was in heaven!
When the bill came, the waiter very demurely said, “the bill does not include service. Would 10% be okay?” I said, “No, 20% is more like it”. He said, “Oh no, sir. 10% is enough” and before I could argue, he pushed the 10% key and processed the payment. The whole experience, including tip was less than $60 for two very happy and full people.
If we’re lucky enough to visit Prague again, Jaffa will be the first place we eat - and maybe the second and the third….
Thank you for a five star experience....
Read moreMy recent visit to Jaffa restaurant in Prague left me feeling disappointed and underwhelmed. Regrettably, there were several aspects of my dining experience that fell short of my expectations.
First and foremost, I was served a cold dish that should have been warm. This lack of attention to detail was quite disappointing, as it significantly affected the taste and enjoyment of the food. It would have been ideal if the staff had ensured that all dishes were served at the appropriate temperature.
Furthermore, I found that the value provided for the price paid was simply not in line with my expectations. Considering the cost, I anticipated a higher level of quality and a more satisfying dining experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and I felt that the value for money aspect was lacking.
Additionally, I was disappointed by the small portion sizes of the food served. Despite the prices charged, the quantity of food provided was unsatisfactory. As a result, my dining experience felt incomplete and left me feeling unsatisfied.
While there were some notable drawbacks, it is worth mentioning that the restaurant's ambiance was pleasant. The cozy and inviting atmosphere created a comfortable setting for dining, and the décor added a touch of authenticity to the experience.
Overall, my experience at Jaffa restaurant in Prague was rather lackluster. The disappointment resulting from the cold dish, poor value for money, and small portion sizes outweighed any positive aspects. It is my honest opinion that this restaurant does not live up to its reputation and may not provide a worthy dining experience. As a result, I would advise potential patrons to explore other dining...
