Christmas market — Local services in Paris

Quaint Christmas market. It is smaller than others, but that is the charm. Also, they had a lot more local vendors than the huge markets. We got handmade jewelry and glass that we didn't see at any of the other markets. Even in Strasbourg, there was a lot of the same stuff that wasn't even made in France or Europe. This place had the best mulled wine over the 5 other markets we went to. It wasn't too sweet. Tourist trap, in fact I'd say all the Christmas Markets are. Little tiny cup of mulled wine for 5 euros. Little tiny hot chocolate and small hard pretzel for 8 euros. You could get a bottle of wine for less and make your own mulled wine. Yes, it's decorated nice but all prices are double or triple. I dare say no Parisians go to these, they are just to get tourist money....

Хотя это место называют рождественским рынком, в апреле здесь тоже кипит жизнь. Локация потрясающая — прямо через дорогу от собора Нотр-Дам де Пари, в самом сердце Латинского квартала. Атмосфера очень парижская: вокруг гуляют туристы, сидят на лавочках студенты, уличные музыканты создают настроение.

Рядом проходят митинги, перформансы, уличное искусство — чувствуется, что это живое место, где всегда что-то происходит. Даже без рождественских огней здесь есть что посмотреть: ремесленные палатки, художники, уличная еда.

Это не классический рынок, а скорее точка концентрации творчества, энергии и настоящей парижской жизни. Отличное место для прогулки, фото и просто чтобы почувствовать...
