Fort got a new addition to boast of its luxury, chic and impeccable royal delights very much linked to the history of the very famous Queen Hurrem Sultan who introduced Baklawa to Turkey which is reknowned for this exclusive sweet which is now a mark of her lifestyle is available only at Hurrems which taking her legacy brings variety of Baklawa for those who believe in indulgence and an experience like no other.
It being 100% pure vegetarian is a bonus for my veg friends out there and another thing that they provide theyâre savory dishes only till 3pm after which they believe in making the people here live their Turkish dream by relishing in their Baklawas only and have a tour of the variety of nuts they have right from almonds to macadamias, hazelnuts where one can taste and pick the right one and gift it to their near and dear ones or just some for themselves.
Also a date section where there is an array of stuffed dates like filled with nuts or covered in chcoolate all so exotic that makes you wanna drool over them.
They have salads, soups, borek which is a bread stuffed with cheese/spinach etc, zaatar breads, pides and much more with one of each being common for the entire week but they have theyâre own specials for each day in every category.
We started off with an olive salad which was so good juicy and flavorful with the tingling of about 3 kinds of olives that won my tastebuds and a garden salad which was yummy and well tossed.
For soups we had the Sunday special Yayla (yogurt and rice based soup) which was served with an olive stuffed Turkish bread (like a small bun) which hands down was a winner for me as it was stuffed with olives and so airy (perfectly baked) and was it was accompanied with a dip called ezme made with mixed veggies that was 10/10 flavour wise and makes me want to go there once again just for that. The other soup which we had was a creamy tomato soup that is served daily which due to its simplicity was also at its best.
We had the mixed veg pide and honestly having tasted a lot of pides accross restaurants serving authentic ones, the pide here was beyond excellence and delicious. Stomach was full of all these things but what I cannot miss out on was the zaatar cheese bread as zaatar spice is my favourite and so did it stand as a great dish here.
We were served first their signature havuc dilmi baklawa which is a triangulate shaped piece made with umpteen layers of phyllo pastry doused with sugar syrup and filled with the goodness of pistachios which was sandwiched with their house made vanilla bean icecream.Though it was a lil bit too sweet for my taste my husband enjoyed it.
After this we were served a tasting platter of 4 baklawa that had 2 classic ones and 2 signature pieces(names of all the baklawa were difficult to remember thus we focused on the taste and forged them down before we could start revising names) out of which one had hazelnuts, the other had Indiaâs favourite cashews, 3rd one was one of my loved ones it had chocolate and walnuts thus a pleaser for all chocolate fans and the last one had pistachio (I think sobiyet was the name)which is a traditional one. Each piece of baklawa was a different  shape so intricately made and baked showed its maximum layers and was bliss in every bite.
After the famous baklawa there was Turkish delights which were these chewy treats in 2 sections where in the basic ones I tried the lemon and pomegranate ones which were so refreshing, sweet and candy like but gooey tasty and then on the servers say who said rose and saffron were great amongst the exotic batch we  tried the saffron one which had a subtle saffron flavour that every indian would love and the other being the berry one which had small bits of berries in it which wasnât very chewy but soft and tart that made it to the top of my list after trying all of them.
We ended our meal with a tour all around and then dipped in some Turkish tea which was traditionally made in style and for coffee lovers one should totally have the Turkish coffee which had a unique...
Read moreAfter my visit to Turkey, I was on the hunt for some good baklava, baklava that truly could capture the essence of Turkey! - thatâs exactly when a friend of my suggested I visit Hurrems. I went there with average expectations, but to my surprise their baklava was literally âTurkey packed in a boxâ.
Assorted Baklava Box: We ordered the assorted baklava box, this comes with 14 pieces of baklava. While the prices are on the steeper side, this one is more about the luxurious palate experience. Packed with flavour, this place has mastered the art of making baklava with their baklavas having 50 layers of filo, finely diced premium pistachios and other nuts & douced in a sweet sugary syrup ~ itâs the right amount of soft and crunchy! Baklavas are on the sweeter side, so if youâre not a fan of things are that too sweet you may want to give this one a miss. There are multiple flavours you can pick from in this box, which are then neatly packed into their signature boxes. If you would like, do visit their fort outlet and sip on some mint tea as you bite into the succulent Baklava! I also highly recommend trying their Turkish delight!
