If you enjoy dealing with robots with zero compassion then this is the place for you. Majority of businesses when dealing with clients during a natural disaster would be more than willing to assist as i have experienced with many other operators when having to change things on the go due to the current Shanshan typhoon situation.
However this is an extremely poor company who try to advise its policy not to refund as there are still buses operating in the town despite non-stop torrential rain and all tourist attractions closed. I'd love to see what they would do if in a similar circumstance.
Further to this the manager is to cowardly to even address the situation trying to hide behind her desk and sending out her junior staff rather than address herself. Boss of the year award for this one.
My advice for anyone looking for the Hakone pass in future DO NOT PURCHASE HERE!!! Buy online instead with a credit card - that way if things do go wrong or the unexpected occurs then you simply have recourse to lodge a dispute with your card provider which is easier than trying to get help...
Read moreI discovered there are actually 2 Odakyu Sightseeing Service Centers at Shinjuku Station. One being at Shinjuku West and the other one near the entrance to Odakyu Platform itself. Both will be able to sell tickets and passes for Odakyu Line just make sure you don't confuse between the 2 Centers. I went to the one at Shinjuku West when I arrived in Tokyo. There was no line whatsoever to purchase my Hakone Free Passes. The staff was very helpful and patient in explaining to me the passes. Halfway she understood that I don't require a return ticket to Tokyo and quickly adjusted the tickets which save a few yens for me! I went to the Center at Odakyu Platform on day of travel and there a long que and the line was moving very slowly. Wanted to change my tickets to an earlier train but gave up due to the long...
Read morePicking up Klook Hakone tickets and upgrading to the Romance cars was fine, but their price for luggage storage is high. A fixed cost of $1000 Yen per bag per day, even if we just wanted to store them for a few hours. When we asked for directions to the station lockers, they said they couldn't help. Staff that day seemed to take quite long processing bags for storage. Shinjuku station is big and confusing to navigate, especially if you're in a rush, so plan for it. Note there's an Odakyu Service Centre South who provided a helpful map when we couldn't find our way back to Odakyu Centre West. We had to go outside, walk all around Lumine1 and Keio and down...
