One of the best massage experiences I’ve had — and right in the heart of Asakusa, Tokyo!

From the moment we arrived, everything was thoughtful and relaxing. It was a hot day, and they welcomed us with chilled, freshly brewed green tea and a refreshing foot bath — such a perfect way to unwind and cool down.

Before the massage began, they took the time to ask about focus areas and let us choose from a lovely variety of natural fragrances to personalize the experience. The massage itself was absolutely amazing — incredibly relaxing, skilled hands, and they really listened to what your body needs.

But the most unexpected (and memorable!) part came after the massage — they served delicious halal snacks and a drink that I still think about. A wonderful surprise and such a thoughtful touch, especially for those looking for halal-friendly experiences in Japan.

The atmosphere was peaceful and serene, and the staff were warm, professional, and attentive throughout.

If you’re visiting Asakusa and need a break from sightseeing or just want to treat yourself, this salon is a hidden gem. 10/10 —...

Thank you for this relaxing time and amazing experience! I came to this place because of my friend’s recommendation and it’s worth it!

The location is great! Close to the Asakusa subway station. The interior is very elegant and cozy in a Japanese style.

The owner Mariko-san and the massage master Chiyo-san welcome me right next to the entrance. They invited me to a spacious and cozy room offering some tea. I answered some questions about what kind of massage I’d love to get today. And Chiyo-san let me smell aroma oils that I could enjoy during the massage.

Chiyo-san was very accurate and attentive giving me massage. She gave me exactly the right pressure that I wanted to have for my muscles. It was so relaxing that I almost felt asleep 😄

And after the massage I felt so refreshed!

At the end Chiyo-san brought me another cup of tea and some sweets 🥰 and by the way all this time we spoke English that was very comfortable for me since I don’t speak much Japanese.

So I sincerely recommend this place to relax and feel more refreshed after a long day.

Thank...

Exceptional Experience at Sakura-an I had a truly wonderful experience at Sakura-an. The staff are incredibly kind, professional, and attentive—right from the moment you walk in, you’re made to feel welcome and at ease. The massage itself was excellent; the therapists clearly know what they’re doing, with just the right amount of pressure and a deep understanding of how to relieve tension from long travel days.

What stood out most was how accommodating they were. They’re very foreigner-friendly, which is a huge plus for travelers adjusting to jet lag or coming back after a full day of exploring Japan. The space is clean, calming, and thoughtfully maintained—everything you’d hope for in a quality massage experience.

If you’ve been walking all day or just need to recharge, I highly recommend Sakura-an. It’s the perfect hidden gem for relaxation and self-care...

We stopped in without an appointment, but were lucky that they had an hour opening. It was around 3pm and there was one staff member available so my husband and I each got a half hour massage while the other waited. My masseuse was Mari. She spoke English and was very friendly and attentive. She offered tea and snacks while one of us waited which was very accommodating and nice of her. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the massage and adjusted the pressure to my liking. Next time I come back, I will book an appointment ahead of time for a full hour or more. Highly recommend!
