7 October 2022. Van for 2hrs++ trip just like the van kilang. Supposedly before pickup customer, the driver should fill the petrol already. Ironically, customer have to wait to fill the petrol. This situation still okay at first. Suddenly, the van got overheated. We spent like more than 2hrs at the road side to wait for the van to recover and at last need to wait other van to continue that trip (face palm). Rude driver, not even single sorry from the driver or agency. An intern supposedly need to follow the driver meh?? She just made the van full!!! An intern just playing her phone and when the van overheated, that intern not saying single word to us??? What is the internship for?? An intern for over filling the van? Or just the driver’s girl? Drivers can bring their girl?? Called the management and they just said “this is an accident, we cannot do anything..” Where are their sorry? Not even a single sorry word? We are supposedly make our way to Desa Farm straight from the airport. For not making any fuss after the van got overheated, we suggested that we should cancel the Desa farm that day and change to tomorrow, the driver said “no! We already paid for it today!”. Whaaaaat??? Are we changing the schedule as we want? Is it our business wether you paid or not? What about our time spent stupidly? How to proceed the Desa Farm as they will be closed on 4pm and at that time already like 3pm something and the trip still need about 1hr 45 mnts away? That day was a long day in our trip. Missed our lunch that day and a pregnant woman have nothing to eat and got bloated already. Thank God the next day everything went smooth and nothing bad happened also we get to Desa Farm. Great company, reasonably priced and well organised. I have done 4 tours with this company: Sapi/Manukan Islands, Mantanani Islands, Kinabalu National Park and Poring Hot Springs, and Fireflies and Proboscis Monkeys Tour. All of them were great even though the weather doing the Kinabalu National Park tour was atrocious but there was nothing could be done about that. The drivers were great especially Annuar and Ries. My favourite tour guide was Anis, whom I had the pleasure with 2 of the tours - she was incredible, very friendly with a great personality - definitely a recommended tour guide from this company. The other tour guide Matt who did the Mantanani Islands Tour was professional, to certain extent, in looking after his guests and did a great job but there is one flaw I did find with him and that is his lack of social skills in terms of mingling with guests. On journeys on the way there and back again he was too busy listening to music instead of engaging a conversation with guests and in my eyes that wasn't great. All tour guides should be professional but at the same time connect with your guests - this is where Matt failed to deliver and where Anis truly exceeded. Finally, I have to give my special thanks to Nurul for organising my tours, being proactive on WhatsApp regarding queries prior to coming to KK and during my stay. Her organisational skills was the key in why my tours were amazing - if if wasn't for Nurul, I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much as I did - everything she did was nothing more than exceptional. Booked via trip advisor directed to TYH tours day trip to Manatina Island tour x add reads one hour car ride to boat was actually 2 hour car ride driver was very nice limited English car clean arrived boat jetty toilets unusable and disgusting x older boat with seating for 22 however 33 people crammed on board my seat for 50 minutes shared with local mumma and 2 kids not ideal considering cost x arrived at island then went out snorkeling x beautiful fish and coral x the island was relatively clean however rubbish was laying around x lunch was mostly seafood wasn’t appealing chicken wings also unappealing x I went hungry x no bottled water offered nor any commentary regarding Islands x toilet facilities ok x the local crew members on boat whilst very friendly we’re very rowdy and loud with head thumping music playing on boat and island restaurant no chance off peaceful island visit x on boarding boat for return a further 3 back packers boarded an or ready over crowded boat I did not feel safe or confident for a return boat ride x on return to main Land my driver abandoned me to travel with local driver who’s buddy wasn’t waiting short time later van arrived finally 2 long hours later I arrived back at my Kato hotel hungry and tired x honestly I would not recommend this very long day trip x the 2 star rating is for the...
