This replaced the lot which Uncle Don was located. Food's on the pricier side but the restaurant was packed during lunch. The four of us had:
Pineapple fried rice was good! Portion is huge and for those who are small eaters, highly recommend to share. The rice was quite flavourful with a strong curry taste. Good wok hei too. The plate came with two sticks of satay, side of acar, and small piece of fried ang ku. There was also a generous number of prawns within the fried rice.
Nyonya Curry Mee was also okay, although colleague mentioned that she had had better. The curry broth was flavourful as well and santan-y. It would be better if it was slightly thicker. Likewise, the portion is quite huge too and they were generous with the ingredients - prawns, beansprouts, long beans, boiled egg, eggplant, and a piece of fried Fuchuk.
Lamb Cutlets was not too great, perhaps it was cos it's a western dish in a Nyonya Restaurant. Didn't get to try cos I don't take red meat and when they served the plate, the lamb 'smell' was quite over powering. I thought that the cutlets were a bit small and thin too, so might not be worth the price.
Mee Siam was what I had and to me it was a bit disappointing. I wolfed it down still cos I was hungry and the dish took sooo long to arrive. The noodles were a bit dry and lacked the spicy, sourish taste a good plate of mee siam should have. It tasted like regular fried mihun to me. As for the fried chicken wing, nothing unique about it, just the usual.
Conclusion - I tried their branch in IOI City Mall before and had their tidbits, kuih and other mains which were good. Will be back perhaps for the popular stuff like laksa and...
Read moreNothing much to comment about their foods coz any branch I go their foods always good. Except their Teh Iced (Quill City Mall) taste very diluted. I can't even taste the tea and the tea aroma (I never order drinks before). Since this branch is new, they not enough manning. The staff not well trained. The male staff with long sleeve dark blue uniform not professional enough to be server. The way he serve my drink was so bad. He just smack the glass on the table. The female server is good but she forgot to give us cutlery. After serve my friend food and other customer food she left to do other work. Only one staff (I think he is the manager) serve my food in good manners. I saw the same male staff taking order at other table with bad body posture. I think you guys really need to have a better training for the server. How to hold food tray, how to serve food, how to take order, how to interact with customers. Date: 24th July 2025 Time:...
Read moreWe went there for trying out the Nyonya experience- which included dressing up in Nyonya costume and making traditional Nyonya dessert. It was definitely the highlight of our whole Malaysia trip.
The host was extremely knowledgable, patient and helpful. He had superb photographing skills and I was really impressed by his patience towards our two elderly women when they had to take extra time to put on the costume. The host was very friendly and I appreciate that he would tell us about Nyonya background when making the traditional dessert.
Thank you very much for the birthday surprise to our family as well. We do appreciate it very much. We have spent a very enjoyable and delightful three hours at the restuarant for photo-taking, making desserts and enjoying the desserts we made. I would definitely recommend my friends to visit this restaurant for an exotic and unique...
