Imagine your worst experience and double down on it. Which is exactly that happened with us. My fiancé booked the resort for our 10 year anniversary, we arrived on Wednesday morning and planned on staying until Sunday. First day and half were great, even though they baited us in with their time share presentation and what was supposed to be a 90 min presentation turned into a three hour waste of the day.
Regardless, we were having a great time with each other. So this didn’t bother us much, not until Friday after we spent the morning at the beach. We come back from the beach to our room and we can’t get back into our safety box. Same code we have been using for the last two day, for some reason stopped working. I call the front desk, and they send someone up immediately to open it. Our room was cleaned and restocked while we were away, so this was a bit strange. We always check our safety box before we leave and this time it was no different. Once the safety box was open i check to make sure everything is in order, and to our surprise someone not only shuffled the money around in my wallet, it was also missing a few hundred dollars. I call the front desk and explain to them what happened, because the guy they sent didn’t speak English.
We speak to the front desk again, but since we had plans for dinner on Friday night, instead of trying to argue and get upset at the situation we told them do your “investigation” pull the camera feed and let us know what you find. Nothing gets done that night, for obvious reasons. The next day they send Elias from concierge, young guy in the early twenty’s I’m assuming. Who takes down the information with another security guy, and have me write out an incident report (which they refused to give us a copy of).
While Elias is there, taking down the information he mentions the same thing front desk mentioned. The door wasn’t opened by anybody until you called security to open it. So, it could have been left open and that’s when we take pictures of everything in the safe. All the belongings, have to be pictured by the security etc. When he said this, I asked was our safe open? Is that why the code was changed? He asked the security guy next to him and they both said NO! the box was not left open. Confused by his comments, I asked why were we unable to get into the safety box then? Who changed the passcode?
He doesn’t know that answer, he will let us know once they do the investigation and pull the cameras. Again, confused by why he’s still waiting to pull the camera feed. It’s been over 18 hours since this occurred and was reported. At this point, we feel they are trying to make the situation just go away and act like it’s not a big deal. We are trying not to let this bother us, over a few hundred dollars. But the fact that these people are lying is what’s bothering us more than it should have. Now, I don’t want to leave anything in the room but also can’t carry around money and jewelry with us everywhere we go.
It’s around 3pm, and Elias who had been watching up get lunch by the beach finally decided to come see us while we were laying out and now informed us, we did in fact leave the door open and which is why the code was changed. But when we asked why weren’t we informed about the code change? Why is the money missing? Even if we did leave it open, which is NOT possible. We double check our safety box before we leave. He said I’ve talked to my manager and they will speak with you. So just to clarify.
At first the safe may have been left open, then told the safe was not opened by anybody but us. Then the safe WAS left open. I asked to speak with their manager, who is another young woman trying to explain something she barely has a grasp on. She’s not a manager but an assistant. Who completely changed the narrative and said we left it open, even after speaking to three different people who said we did not leave the safe open other wise there would have been a report. To now, we left a paper in your room. There was no paper, there wasn’t anything anywhere until we...
Read moreWe love staying at Breathless Resorts (we’ve been to them all) The hotel in Cabo is in the perfect location: direct beach access (beach chairs included) & along the Harbour. We felt safe walking outside the resort in this area while checking out the restaurants and shops. Pools: The party pool has a nice view of the ocean & Harbour. A DJ plays upbeat edm, pop, hiphop and oldies. We always had a drink in hand and there’s a good sized food menu poolside (try the fish burger). Our regular server Yami (sry for the spelling) was always amazing, & all the servers work together & are also amazing. The entertainment crew is very talented, always hosting events such as a tequila tasting (highly recommend). Every Breathless we’ve been to had weekly foam parties but during our stay here they did not (a new Covid restriction?), but always had something going on like dancing etc. The party pool water temperature was quite warm which was nice. The quiet pool “Aka hangover pool” has a beautiful view of the Harbour & is perfect for sunsets. Shoutout to our server Angel. Jonathan helped pick the perfect 2 hour boat cruise on Sun Rider. We even chased humpback whales! If we came back we would take advantage of the day visit to San Jose del Cabo organized by Breathless. Shoutout to Edgar at the concierge desk for helping us organize our whole visit. Restos: We recommend most of them. We had free access to Ocote (the Mexican restaurant) because we opted for the exhale club upgrade. We enjoyed the bone marrow app & pacific catch. The bartender Gabino would always make new cocktails for us. The Italian was our fav (try the truffle pizza, short rib spaghetti & lobster ravioli). Fish Nets has a good meat platter & try the chicharrón fried shrimp. Here we had our fav dessert tres leche avocado cake. Try Bites for sushi at night (shoutout to our server Ernesto) & breakfast in the morning. I wish we could remember the hostess’ name because she was so attentive. The Mediterranean restaurant Kibbeh was alright but not our fav. Spoon has a breakfast buffet & an à la carte lunch. Room service for us never took longer than 40 minutes and we were always happy. Bars/Nightlife: Exhale Club lounge has a private terrace & a private bartender with premium drinks. We would go there for a pre-dinner cocktail. (Although when you are at other bars & ask for Don Julio they never inquired if we were a part of the exhale club). Wink bar is a casual bar with a fire pit. The bartenders are so awesome there. They screen football games and have different entertainment, for example a live violinist. Rooftop bar has a great view & entertainment, such as a fire show, and every time we went a DJ would be there. The rooftop was pretty quiet after 10pm, a lot of guests we spoke to would go out of the resort for late night drinking (about a 10 min walk) to places such as Squid Roe, Cabo Wabo, The Jungle Bar, or Kapital which is an outdoor rooftop club. We highly recommend the restaurant Bagatelle. It just opened & has an amazing chef from the other Bagatelle restaurant in St Tropez, France. At 10 pm it changes to a chic bar atmosphere. Because Bagatelle is attached to Breathless you get a 10 percent discount. The room: We were in the far left side closer to the building with the gym & party pool. The room was made up everyday, sometimes forgetting to stock our water but were quick to respond to our calls. Our room was clean with a nice balcony. You can hear Sea Lions sometimes at night, but we were able to sleep through that. We enjoyed seeing them pop up once in a while in the water. We were disappointed the TVs are not smart TVs, so you just have access to cable channels with a lot of old movies & some current shows. Next time we would bring our tablet to watch Netflix when we want some downtime. We also wish the room had a speaker to connect to, so we went to the mall and purchased a speaker for music. The gym is open 24 hours a day. We would stay at...
Read moreI did not want to result to writing a review so negatively about Breathless Cabo but the grace period I have given them and the outcome is very distasteful.
Let be first start by saying the resort has a great location and very close to some amazing beaches. The food they offer for a all inclusive resort is amazing. But I am writing this review to express my profound disappointment with the experience my family and I had during our recent stay at the resort. Given the high expectations we had for such a significant event, the series of issues we encountered were deeply disheartening and far below the standards advertised.
Firstly, the setup for my wedding was significantly delayed. Despite my clear instructions and the agreed-upon schedule, the setup was not ready at the promised time. This caused considerable inconvenience and disruption, affecting the overall success of my wedding. The wedding was supposed to start at 6:00pm and at 6:15 pm they were still hanging up lights and flowers. Why would anyone still be setting up while guests are arriving. My family started to help to speed up the process. This caused undue stress and anxiety on what was supposed to be a joyous and seamless event. The delay disrupted our schedule , affected our guests' experience , and undermined the meticulous planning we had undertaken for months leading up to our special day.
The quality of the food provided at the reception was grossly inadequate. The resort food taste better than the catered food. The meals served were not only unappetizing but also failed to meet basic standards of taste. This was particularly embarrassing given the importance of the occasion and the expectations of our guests.
More alarmingly, when checking in I asked for an upgraded room which it states in the package I purchased, it was based on availability. The lady at check-in informed me that there were no rooms to be upgraded to. When informed that our room was ready, I was horrified to find guests already present and engaged in an sexual act. This incident was extremely distressing and unprofessional. It raises serious concerns about the security and management of this facility. It also is a serious breach of privacy. It left me feeling violated and deeply uncomfortable in what should have been a sanctuary for relaxation and preparation. At this point we were than upgraded to a room which I requested in the beginning. If the upgrade was given when asked this event could have been avoided.
I called the hotel to obtain the General Manager name and email address in which they stated that cannot give that information out. So I than went to google to find anyone that works for Breathless Cabo San Lucas. I than sent an email on Sunday August 4th, 2024. I did not receive an email back to speak about the situation until Tuesday in which I spoke with Mauricio. Mauricio offered me a 1 night stay back at their resort which I informed him that was not acceptable. We stayed here for 5 nights at the Xhale rate on top of paying for the wedding and vendors. He than informed me that he would call me the next day which would have been Wednesday August 7th, 2024. It is now Thursday August 8th, 2024. No email, no phone call and no solution. On top of things, my wedding was July 28th, 2024 and ii have yet to receive my weeding pictures.
I trust that Breathless Cabo San Lucas understand the gravity of these issues and the significant impact they had on what was meant to be one of the happiest days of our lives. I am seeking an appropriate resolution for this series of unacceptable...
