Siam — Local services in Pathum Wan Subdistrict

In my experience, Siam can be loosely considered or referred by people, tourists as a district, a portfolio set of premium, big shopping malls, or Siam Paragon, or even BTS Siam Station. But all in all, i guess many are most interested in paying Siam Paragon - the most renowned shopping mall a visit. Probably, you won't be considered having visited bangkok or even Thailand if you happened to miss it on your travel agenda! So do allot sometime to the Siam Paragon Mall even if you have a compressed or very tight travel agenda, which boast of world's premium brands and shops, often with highlights of special featured exhibitions on Parc Paragon venue, and oftentimes event or product or fashion brand promotion visits by celebrities or personalities in the entertainment or show business (eg TV, MOVIE). Sometimes simply organised shows, or activities to promote the mall or for other purposes. Of course, there are also hundreds of fine dining, and chain restaurants in the mall, and a food court with wide selection of delicacies, for different budget and high spending customers N tourists.

The officer at Siam BTS was extremely rude. I tried to explain that the cashier gave me the wrong change. The ticket from Siam to BTS Saint Louis costs only 32 baht. I handed the cashier 100 baht, but she returned only 38 baht instead of 68 baht.

At first, I didn’t notice because I was in a hurry. When I later checked my wallet, I realized the mistake and went back to request the correct change. Instead of assisting me, the officer responded rudely. I explained the situation clearly, but he dismissed me and insisted that I should pay again at the next station.

Why should I pay twice for the same trip? That is completely unreasonable. I eventually walked away because it was exhausting to deal with such unprofessional behavior.

I understand that language barriers exist, but in such cases, the staff should at least seek assistance from someone who can communicate properly. This is not just about 50 baht it’s about fairness and respect. Money is hard-earned, no matter the amount, and passengers deserve to be treated with honesty...

This station is the biggest and main BTS station, from one side of it you the Siam Paragon mall and from the other side you have Siam Square One mall and Siam Square. Usually it's packed with people and in the mornings and afternoons when everyone go back home there is a big line of people waiting to get into the train. If you stay in bangkok from more than one day and you going to stay around this area or use this Station a lot maybe it would be best for you to buy the BTS refill card called "Rabbit" so you can save some time so you wouldn't have to wait for some of those purchase...
