Tucked away in the bustling square, Ali's Bazaar, a family-run gem straight from the enchanting lands of Cappadocia in Turkey, offers an exceptional shopping experience. This delightful bazaar is a trove of treasures, boasting an exquisite selection of Turkish rugs. Each rug, with its intricate design and quality craftsmanship, tells a story of tradition and artistry.
Ali and his family exude the warmth and hospitality Turkey is renowned for, making every customer feel like an honored guest. They go above and beyond by providing door-to-door shipping for international customers, ensuring that the beauty of Turkey can grace homes worldwide.
For sports enthusiasts, there’s an added charm. The family's passion for soccer often translates into celebratory discounts following a victorious match of their favorite team. While I deeply regretted not being able to revisit with a friend due to our tight itinerary, the bazaar left a lasting impression.
For those wandering the vibrant streets of Istanbul in search of authentic keepsakes, Ali's Bazaar is a must-visit destination. It’s more than just a shopping spot; it’s a place where visitors can capture a piece of Turkish magic to...
Read moreAbsolute scam, if I could give zero stars I would. After just arriving in Istanbul we were lured here by a local who claimed this was his family’s shop and wanted to offer us beverages and a carpet lecture to kill time while we were waiting to check in to our hostel. Upon arrival our “friend“ disappeared and we were lead downstairs by Osman Latif, the salesman. Osman started off friendly but after explaining our situation as young backpackers on a tight budget and just lovers of art/culture he completely changed. Osman immediately lost interest in sharing any information/conversation with us and began to make us very uncomfortable making jokes about illegal immigration in the U.S., European refugees, and pressuring us to buy other “cheap” and “handmade” novelties from the upstairs store. After again explaining that we just arrived and don’t have any cash yet he tried to get us to buy something with any other form of payment before finally just telling us to leave and not to come back. Please be aware of scams and take “random acts of kindness” in Istanbul with a...
Read moreREAD ALL THE REVIEWS BELOW! These people are frauds. They currently have $750 of my money after returning a carpet that they lied about being a hand woven, turkish rug. After returning IN PERSON, they said they would credit me back. They never did, after I sent them all the correct information to refund me multiple times. I have uploaded the conversation, and the run around. They also submitted FALSE documents to capital one from purchase made in 2024 (I made mine in January 2025). Not good practice. They will delay you until you can't move forward with a complete charge back. I hope this review costs them more than the $750 they are attempting to steal from me. All it takes is one person reading this before they buy, and they will have lost more than it would just refunding me in the first place. I will take this review down if they ever decide to do the...
