ALO — Local services in London

I visited Alo this Friday afternoon in Covent Garden. I was hoping for a luxury fitness experience, since that is what the look and feel of the brand implies. When I looked online before coming to the store, I noticed that fitness instructors receive a discount of 25%, so I picked up an item of clothing I was thinking to purchase and went to the front desk to pay and ask about the discount. I would not have gone and asked for a discount without ensuring it was something the company offers - alo do. The cashier was rude and short with me when I asked about the discount, speaking with an attitude and certainly not entailing the values of somebody who works in customer service. When I showed her the evidence I found online she read it and said “no we don’t offer a discount in store” - this is what she said twice prior. No check with someone who is her superior, seemingly no knowledge of this policy as she couldn’t explain anything about it to me either. The other staff members were warm and accommodating, and the store was nicely laid out. But the cashier made me feel insignificant and like I didn’t belong there - as a fitness professional the opposite narrative...

I had such a great experience at Alo! The store is beautifully laid out with a lovely, calming atmosphere, and everything is organised so well that shopping feels effortless.
