Overall, very satisfied. Yes, I would stay again. The good:
Cleaning: This seems to be the only hotel we could find that cleans your room daily (after all I’m here on vacation). We stayed 6 days and they cleaned each day.
Breakfast: Again those was about the only hotel we could find with a breakfast that is NOT “grab and go” like other hotels. Now don’t get me wrong, it isn’t like pre-covid, but it’s the best we could find by far for a large family. It’s a basic hot breakfast: each day had: eggs, some type of sausage, and some type of hash browns/potato’s. In addition there is cold cereal, oatmeal, toast, jam, butter, apple juice, orange juice, milk, whole fruit (oranges/bananas) and an ice/water machine. They serve you the hot items. The sizes are generous and you are welcome to go back for more. I wish they had tortillas and cheese, it would have been simple to make breakfast burritos in the morning, it would be inexpensive for them and would offer some variety. That said, my kids we’re all thrilled with the breakfast, they were grateful it wasn’t “grab’n go”.
Pool Area: I’m not sure I’f the pool was heated as the kids spent most of their time in the hot tub. There was a basketball Cort and a little putting range. The pool area was well kept and has a natural gas fire pit that kept us warm outside and made watching the kids fun.
The staff: they are fantastic! Take a look at reviews for other hotels in the area. We seemed to find constant complaints of people having issues with customer service. Not at this hotel! The staff is always friendly and went above and beyond to help us out. They were always friendly, they received our Walmart grocery delivery for us and put it in our room and put the fridge stuff in the fridge.
The room: we got the king with a bunk bed (it has trundle under the bottom bunk so it actually sleeps 3 (3 twin mattresses). The bunk bed has a wall from floor to ceiling that goes out half way down by he room providing some privacy between the bunk beds and the king bed. The other half of the room that is separated with a full wall and door has a sitting area with a fold out couch (sleeps2) and a kitchen: microwave, large fridge, 2 burners, sink, dishwasher, basics dishes, table and chairs. (No oven) there were 3 bbq grills down at the pool but they weren’t in operation during our visit I’m guessing because of Covid.
Did I mention we are a large family? They were nice enough to provide a roll away free of charge so everyone had their own bed. It flips up on its end when not in use.
Parking, parking is $24 per night.
Distance to the park: it is about a 15 min walk to the park entrance. It’s just down the street and simple to navigate. All that said this hotel is right next to a didn’t parking lot, you can simply walk down the sidewalk into the gate that leads to the parking lot and get right on the shuttle to the park. Best part about this is you go through security at the parking lot and don’t have to go through it at the park when you arrive. There is no charge to do this. One night we left at a peak time and chose to walk because it was clearly going to be a faster way of getting back. All other times we used the shuttle.
The bad: TV: there are two tv’s which is great, the door closes between rooms and does a great job with stopping sound. But…. There is no streaming. There is Direct tv with a bunch of Chanel’s but I prefer streaming anymore and kind of expected to be able to login to Netflix, Hulu, and Disney plus but that wasn’t an option here. Not a huge deal, our solution was to purchase a Roku Express for like $20 and had it delivered with our Walmart grocery delivery. It worked great, simply manually change the input to HDMI2 and you are all set. It was a simple inexpensive solution.
No Oven, now let’s be honest how often do you use an oven at a hotel? Okay, not much but we purchased some frozen pizzas to have on hand...
Read moreThe Room: OK... we got 2 rooms this trip... both of the rooms were missing towels... actually to clarify, the suite only had 2 towels and no hand towels... the king room room only had 1 bath towel... the reservation clearly said the number of guests per room. The suite with the kitchenette was missing paper towels, dishwasher detergent and pot holders (luckily we brought our own kitchen kit)
There were only 2 cups in the entire room. I guess you can rinse out the coffee to brush your teeth. There is a drought here in California.
The king bed cover had stains on it... it looks like they tried to launder it, but you can still see the stains even in bad lighting. Had to pass our UV cleaner over these stains a few times... just in case.
The bath towels are soft and even fluffy.
Housekeeping: Hilton has a CleanStay program that has daily housekeeping on demand... no problem. What the problem is was that we did request housekeeping and they came into the room. This was after our first night there. Remember to put out the "Do not Disturb" sign when you leave and do not want housekeeping.
The mirror in the sleeping area have not been dusted, nor the artwork by the work desk.
Checking the closet, there was no laundry bag, only the laundry slip.
Some how housekeeping found out we finished moving our luggage to the car... as I came back up to do a final check, I found the door opened and housekeeping was already stripping the linens and towels. We did not check out yet... but they knew... that is strange.
Technology: Unlike most other Hilton properties, the room did not come with any USB plugs anywhere. You would figure there should be at least 1 on each night stand, but nope.
The WiFi is actually pretty good. Really strong signal in almost all areas I checked. If you are using their standard wifi with a VPN, there is some sort of throttle that causes the connection to become unstable and disconnects. They want you to purchase their premium wifi to allow a VPN connection.
I had trouble using my digital key on most doors, just did not read or open. The only room that had no trouble was my room so that is good.
Parking Lot: This is a private secured lot, you will need your door card to enter and exit. There is a $29/night charge for this service.
The lot covers both sides and rear of the building so parking spaces should be available... but 2 large vehicles next to each other even within the parking lines will be a bit tight opening doors.
Amenities: Really clean and pretty well stock fitness center 24 hours. Large selection of cardio machines
Outdoors basketball court (just a single rim)
Putting Green
Dog relief area with bags
Guest Laundry - 2 each washer and dryer. $4 per load per machine, no coins accepted, you have to use a card reader and select the machine number you want to pay for.
Breakfast: Waffle Makers onsite and working
Day 1 - scrambled eggs, smoked sausages and red skinned potatoes Day 2 - scrambled eggs, turkey linked sausage and pancakes Day 3 - scrambled eggs, pork sausage patty...
Read moreAfter reading many positive reviews, we decided this would be a great place to stay during our Disney vacation. However, this hotel leaves much to be desired with room for improvement.||Pros:|We appreciated the family suite floor layout, as you do not hear much hallway noise in the bedroom area. The bunkbeds were functional, although the top bunk was hard to get in and out of for younger children and so close to the ceiling that an older child could not sit up without bumping their head. The kitchen and full-size refrigerator were great, and a separate family area was nice for our family of five (5). The breakfast foods are changed daily and offer a good selection. The breakfast area is large and open. All of the breakfast staff were AMAZING! They worked hard, refilling things often, cleaning tables and floors in record time, and were extremely kind and helpful. The walk to the Toystory parking lot was easy and convenient. The pool area is only okay. It is clean (the water was COLD), although the pool towels are worn, thin, and were not refilled very often.||Cons: |The front desk staff was anything but friendly and/or helpful. They appeared to be bothered and put out anytime we stopped by the front desk for any reason. A smile, a cheerful good morning, or a welcome back shout-out goes a long way to help your guest feel comfortable and welcome. The hotel website says it has been renovated, although I don't know how recently. The carpet in the guest rooms is dirty! After bathing our children, their bare feet were filthy after walking from the bathroom to the family area. Don't forget you must request room service the night before for your room to be "refreshed" the following day. This does not include vacuuming of any kind during the entire stay. Sheets are thin, worn, and were not changed even when requested. Most of the pillows are awful and lumpy. There are no kitchen towels to wash anything with, so you must use the bathroom towels. You receive a set of four (4) bath, hand, and face towels, even though the family suites sleep up to seven (7), so you must request additional towels as needed. The bathroom sink is open to the bedroom, so the lights wake everyone up when turned on. The ice machine on the 5th floor did not work during our 7-day stay, nor was there a sign telling guests that it was out of order for most of our stay. The ice machine on the 4th floor was being repaired, so the 3rd floor ice machine received a lot of use. ||The extra room in the family suites was appreciated, but we were unimpressed and will not stay here again. In my opinion, this is a budget hotel with a lot of room for...
