Myself and my husband arrived at the spa at 9:07am for our 10:00am appointment. When I noticed a male attendant preparing to service me, I politely informed the male therapist that we had requested two female therapists at the time of booking our appointment.
The male therapist left the room and returned with another woman therapist named Kelly. I was told by Kelly, that I could not change the male therapist and that I could cancel my appointment. Kelly proceeded to tell me in a very aggressive and demeaning manner that I was inconveniencing her and the spa and she had done all that she could do. I explained that we had booked two women therapists by request over a month ago with the spa manager. Kelly doubled down by repeating that I could cancel my appointment and pay a $75.00 cancellation fee as she had other clients to see after my appointment.
I asked to speak to a manager and a few moments later, Bree entered the room and confirmed that the spa made a mistake with my reservation request. She offered to comp our visit which only made sense because we had not received any services.
Felicia was particularly pleasant and understanding— she shared that it was very common for couples to request two female/women massage therapists. She said the spa gets that type of request daily when making appointments. She also offered that we could still use the garden bath tub as we still had 25 minutes left for our appointment time. It takes the tub about 30-40 minutes to fill up so that would’ve been a waste of time. We ended up leaving the spa without massages and even more stressed than when we arrived.
I had booked a staycation weekend as a surprise gift for my husband. My experience at the Waldorf Astoria Spa Atlanta Buckhead was demoralizing and borderline traumatic— nothing luxury or relaxing about it. I reached out to customer service via the website and never received a response. I will never recommend The Waldorf Astoria Spa Atlanta Buckhead and never return to patronize. You can spend $700 per person at a better establishment who knows how to...
Read moreI had a wonderful massage from Quentin (sp? My apologies if I misspelled his name) and facial from Kellie today! EXCEPTIONAL! Both Quentin and Kellie were phenomenal! I did not have to give any directions, no complaints, no adjustments to pressure nor anything else. I was not thrilled being informed that I had a male masseuse. However, Quentin surpassed my expectations and greatly impressed me! I was truly blown away by how great he was! I have never had a decent massage from a male before, yet this was truly the best massage I have ever had. Not once did I have to comment about the pressure applied, areas, focal points, nothing! I wish I could have extended it for another 50 - 80 minutes, which I did not bother to ask since my facial was immediately after and not to mention the spa itself was packed! The spa was packed to the point where there were no available seats in the waiting area a few times. I had to wait to get a seat outside on the balcony for some sunshine. I could not indulge in some of the spa amenities because there were so many customers, groups of them. I understand it’s Saturday, but it’s not a holiday, so I wonder if somehow they were overbooked or short-staffed for the day. My facial done by Kellie was both invigorating & relaxing, even the extractions were therapeutic! She is super extremely knowledgeable in regards to skincare recommendations and regimens, without being pushy or condescending. I felt so comfortable and well taken care of by both Quentin and Kellie! Even the two ladies working the spa reception desk, Sam and Bree (if I recall correctly), were wonderful and full of...
Read moreUnfortunately, our experience at the spa did not meet the customer service standards expected from a high-end establishment. As a mom of three, I rarely get time to myself, so this spa day was planned months in advance—only to be met with disappointment.
From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff made us feel like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. There was no warmth in their greeting, setting an uncomfortable tone from the start. The bigger issue, however, was the complete lack of communication regarding payment expectations. Unlike most luxury spas, we were required to pay for our services before they began, which would have been fine had this been clearly communicated in advance. More concerning was being asked to tip before the massage. Typically, gratuity is given after the service based on the quality of the experience. When we inquired about this policy, a front desk attendant responded rudely, comparing it to how tips are included at high-end restaurants—an analogy that doesn’t quite apply to a personalized service like a massage.
The lack of professionalism and customer care was shocking for a spa within such a well-regarded hotel. Even as we left, there was no farewell, thank you, or acknowledgment—just a cold, impersonal send-off that left us feeling unwelcome.
That being said, I do want to highlight that the hotel, valet, and restaurant staff were excellent—attentive, professional, and exactly what you’d expect from a top-tier establishment. Unfortunately, the spa experience did not align with that same standard, and for that reason, I wouldn’t return or...
