I eat that little Alley Steakhouse all the time with my exotic car club however my visit tonight with my African American family was a lot different. I was turned away because I was wearing flip-flops with dress shorts and a golf polo shirt. This is what I normally wear in the spring and summertime when I visit little Alley Steakhouse. I've eaten at Little Alley Steakhouse several times with these exact same shoes on. I even pulled up the dress code on their website that clearly outlines what you can and can't wear and this is not listed on there. I asked to see a manager and I was told that all the managers were in the meeting but advise by security that they looked on the camera and they could see me and they said I wasn't getting in because what I was wearing was against the dress code. As I was walking away there were four Caucasian ladies entering.... two of which were wearing sandals. I immediately ask a security why were they being allowed in and he says because they have on sandals. I've then referred back to the website again and it does not say that flip flops are not allowed or sandals. It seems like they just make the rules up "depending on whi it is" trying to enter. They Caucasian ladies were allowed to enter the establishment and enjoy their dinner however myself and my African American family were not. I can't tell you how many thousands of dollars I've spent in this place with my Exotic Car Club but when I return with my African American family I am not allowed to enter even though the website clearly outlines what you can and cannot wear. I realize what's really going on there now and myself nor my exotic car club will spend another dime in this establishment. I'm not going to bash the restaurant but I'm going to simply share my experience with the public and my 165k followers on Instagram and let them decide whether or not they want to continue patronizing this establishment. I thought it was very disrespectful when I asked for manager the first time and they refused to come down and security told me that they're looking at me on the camera because they're all in a meeting right now and I'm not allowed to enter however the Caucasian party wearing similar footwear were allowed to enter. I think Houston Steakhouse in Atlanta only has one location now because the other one had to shut down because of similar practices that some might call discrimination. We'll just see how this works out for Little Alley. We prompt left and went to another upscale restaurant right around the corner that gladly welcomed us and provided excellent service and excellent food. This will be our new Gathering Spot for my African-American family and...
Read moreVisited for my hubby's birthday dinner. It was amazing! Luke was our waiter, and he was perfect, professional, engaging, but fun and personable at the same time.
FOOD - the menus was varied. From steaks to pork chops to seafood. We went with the wet dry Ribeye (medium) and NY Strip (medium rare). Everything is alacart. Sides run about $12 each. Each side is served family style and enough for may 2 - 3 people. The spinach and corn were good but very surprised by the baked potatoes. FAB. The steaks are served table side - meaning they come out and serve the steak from the skillet to your plate (with the best garlic butter on top).
COCKTAILS - were reasonably prices. Wines starting at $13/glass. Drinks maybe the $12 -$15 range on average. We went with Decoy wine, an old fashion and a drink called. We never had to look around for a refill. The team worked together to ensure you were taken care of. They use over sized wine glasses, so know your 5oz may not look like 5.
AMBIANCE - wonderful. There looks to be three different areas - the bar area. Maybe 20 seats. You are able to dine at the bar. Around the bar and in that area you have booths and table tops for small and medium groups. There is an enclosed garden patio area with a bar and a few table tops. The music was a perfect volume, and the selection was great - not quite piano music but close.
The dress code is business casual. No sports wear or sneakers. Most ladies were dressed nicely and in dresses. Most men had on slacks and button-up shirts or polo shirts. You may be able to get away with jeans as long as they are not ripped and you have nice shoes and a blazer ot button up shirt. I did notice a couple of people not in the recommended attire but - hey. . .
The staff worked well together, and they were seen helping each other throughout the night. We never had a dirty plate sitting on our table. I want to shout out Luke again. This was a perfect night all around. Note - We had a 9pm reservation on a Tuesday night, so the traffic may look a lot different on a weekend night.
Thank you for a great night.
Oh - VALET - was available. We provided a tip. When leaving, our car was 5 steps in from the valet, and the young man actually asked us if we were going to help him out bc they work on tips. How rude to ask. In addition, the car was 5 steps away, and we gave a nice tip upon arrival. Just thought I'd share. Will chalk ot up to being a slow night, and many people use Uber,...
