I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with the service here. First off, they charged me for the next month’s rent, since I moved out on July 1st instead of June 30th, which I understand is part of the policy I signed. But what they also charged me for was for insurance on the unoccupied space for the entire month as well, even though I had taken out all of my belongings on July 1st before 10 am. It is a scam to charge me insurance for the whole month in which I don’t have anything stored and was moved out on the first day of July before 10am. Typically insurance is applied on a daily basis, not monthly! This is unfair and feels like a blatant money grab.
Also, there was no unlocked bathroom available during their stated working hours, which is extremely inconvenient when I have movers working there all through the morning hours. To make matters worse, there was nobody present to assist during their advertised 9-5 working hours. On the rare occasion that there was anybody there, the two individuals working chose to take a lunch break right when I needed assistance, insisting that they needed to take the break together and that we had to wait till they were back. When we were first moving all of our belongings into the storage facility, we needed assistance on what to do and where to store our stuff. We had movers (who are charged by the hour) help bring our things to the storage unit. However, when we arrived, the two workers went on a break and had us waiting for an hour which also added a charge for us with the movers. Read moreI would not recommend this storage company to know one I called told the lady I needed the lock pop cause I lost the key in need to buy another one woman set me up with a 9:30 appt to meet someone there to cut the lock get there young lady rude telling me the customer service don’t no what they talking about all calls are recorded in I have a master disc lock that need a grinder saw n I dint have that but everyday I’m getting text messages emails and phone calls stating they’re gonna put my stuff up for auction bill is paid in full so why I’m going up for auction why I can’t get my belongings then I was told I had an option to fill out a request once again young lady they dint have none cause they don’t do that then When I was on the phone with customer service I had them call over young lady at the desk but not answering thou then they tell me if I fill out the paper it’s gonna take two weeks for them to cut it and imma have to pay Jan rent or my stuff will be auction off Feb but in order to get my stuff YALL have to cut the lock so why can’t the lock get cut so I can move my stuff out and called the lock smith they told me $150-$200 someone wasn’t train well or hung over because I’ve called ten time each person gave me different answer if I come with my own tools and something happen to the gate I’ll have to pay for that tooo should’ve called the police to The unit but imma contact a few more corporate places to see so I’ll have a empty house no Christmas dinner or tree cause it’s all in storage in they won’t let me get it it’s givng they been and my...

I needed last minute storage on a Sunday so I called public storage and found the Hillen St. location was open that they had space! I couldn’t believe it! I was able to reserve my space and got get my gate code electronically which was great given the COVID 19 pandemic.
The manager on duty, Charles, was extremely helpful. I actually needed a larger unit than I’d requested 😅 but he was able to get me a bigger space without any fuss. Thanks to Charles my last minute storage crisis was everted! He was very kind (I was stressed but he remained calm and solution focused).
I’m so grateful I found this storage facility! It’s located in downtown Baltimore, 5 mins from home, and it is on a street where there isn’t much traffic so loading/unloading and parking isn’t an issue. There is also a small parking lot! The facility has AC on the main floor, at least 6 moving carts, and it’s clean (not to mention everyone was wearing masks).
I just wish the facility was open later than 5:30pm, but as Charles explained, COVID has changed their business hours...
