My husband had an appointment here today (March 2, 2020). We went in, and were told that his insurance was not active. This came to a big shock to us, do to the fact that my husband has a serious ongoing medical condition, and is in the doctors office weekly.. Not to mention, we NEVER received anything from the insurance company.. After hearing this, we walked out and started calling the insurance. The woman behind the counter, came out of the building and down the street to tell us to come back in and she would try to help my husband.. I didn’t catch her name, but she was a blessing! She did whatever she could to help him.. Two more ladies came out and assisted us as well. The only name I received was Gail.. If this finds its way to Gail and the two other ladies that tried to help my husband.. Please know, that you ladies are fabulous. You worked so hard to help him and we greatly appreciate it. There needs to be more people like these ladies here.. Not only in the medical field, but in every field. It’s important to not only review a bad experience, but a good one.. This was a GREAT experience!...
Read moreThe epitome of male doctors gaslighting women's pain. I have a few chronic illnesses but I have never been so dismissed by a doctor in my life. I went to the ER because of the worst excruciating pain in my bladder and it burned when I peed. They blamed it on my uterus because of course they did -_- During the follow-up the urogyno said "yeah there's nothing I can do to help you, you don't have a UTI so just take some Ibuprofen but I'm not running any more tests." Just take some Ibuprofen... for the worst pain of my life... Fast forward to months later and I was diagnosed with a mast cell disease attacking my urinary system (by a different hospital.) And don't get me started on their incompetent billing department!!! I tried to correct a bill countless times with them for months and they never bothered to fix it and sent it to collections. They attempted to commit fraud by charging me for a procedure my insurance already paid for, claiming they never got the payment. TWICE. With 2 different bills...
Read moreIf you're in an ambulance and it's headed for any University of Maryland facility, JUMP OUT. Now that I have your attention, the care was not the absolute worst maybe, but I chose to switch to Johns Hopkins. The care is not the biggest issue though. The biggest issue is billing. First of all, to my knowledge I was never even sent a bill. I got 100% financial assistance from University of Maryland hospital (which of course does not include this bunch), because my income is barely over $1,000 a month from social security disability. Great, I thought, my bills are taken care of. The next thing I know I'm getting calls from a collection agency and there is a collection on my credit report. I set up a payment plan with those people and a month after the first payment was made, the phone calls started again. I have cancer which these same physicians were unable to treat successfully, and I'm ill. The last thing I need is a credit agency hounding me over a bill. Thanks so much, University of...
