Kirbies Grill and Cafe — Restaurant in Baltimore

This place used to be my go to for lunch. The sandwiches were always fresh and delish. The last 3 times have not been so great. Ive ordered simple things like a chicken sandwich and got a fish filet or a ham and cheese with lettuce and mayo and got ham and cheese with only tomatoe. I wanted to give them one last chance before fully throwing in the towel. I ordered my sandwich (ham and cheese w/ lettuce and mayo) at 11:23. People were coming and going, and they ordered hot food items. I waited until 11:50 to ask for my money back. I know, insane to wait that long for a sandwich, but i was seriously craving it. The woman checked and my sandwich was ready. She asked if I still wanted it and of course I did (literally waited 30 minutes for a cold cut sandwich, wasting my entire lunch break). The wrapping was piping hot. So naturally, I checked it. Sure enough, it was entirely the wrong thing. Grilled cheese sandwich with ham. This saddened me. If I could give negative 10 stars I would. I ordered a Flounder's Sub Special for $9.95. The sub was sloppy and soggy, the lettuce wilted, the fried onions were piled on the sub, weighing it down and making it impossible to eat. The hots were not spread evenly on the sub and appeared as if they were just thrown on--the sub went in the trash. When I called to complain, I was told by the owner to bring the "product back". When I explained to her that I would not be able to do that (lunch hour was over and I had thrown it away), she suggested I dig the sub from the trash and bring it back the following day! Really? Just so that you don't have to refund my money or provide a well-made sub? You are the epitome of poor business practice, and you suck in customer service. Kirbies was a great find. Just around the block from my hotel, I got there bright and early and placed the second order of the day.

I had a cheese omelette, home fries and pancakes and they were all great. The omelette was particularly fluffy and the cakes had a nice flavor to them like they had a little seasoning in them.

Maybe nutmeg? Vanilla? Nutmeg & Vanilla?

The menu was pretty extensive as well and I'm willing to bet the lunch and dinner fare is probably great as well.

I had to stop and tell the cook that he put me in a horrible dilemma. He had made me one of those meals where you don't know what you want your last bite to be since they all taste so good. It's a nice problem to have.
