I tore my ACL on my right knee on Sunday while skiing, on my second run. My husband used the app to call ski patrol and they got to us super quickly, and took me down the mountain on a toboggan to the ER where they quickly rolled me in, took down my info and got my vitals, put an ice pack on my knee and covered me with a warm blanket. After a quick x-ray showed no broken bones, a doctor came in and did an assessment on my knees and told me he was 99% sure I had torn my ACL completely, though I will have to follow-up with an orthopedic at home to get an MRI to confirm, then schedule surgery. Every staff member I interacted with was wonderful and helpful. One guy went and got me a can of Gatorade, and a nurse grabbed me extra warm blankets. I felt very cared for. I then met with a fantastic physical therapist, who fit me for a brace and went over some PT exercises, emphasizing that grieving is a part of the healing process and to let myself feel the loss, even though it’s a temporary one. That rang true when I started to feel overwhelmed and lightheaded and had to lay down. She gave me one of her Luna bars and encouraged me, and I left feeling inspired to get even stronger through this process. Great place to go. Super convienent on the mountain, and open just for ski season. Prompt on answering phones, and the one time I called after business hours, I received a call back first thing the next morning. The entire staff was great, from the front desk, to the doctor, nurses and emts. It was so scary but every person I interacted with was professional, efficient, and caring.
