MB of Bellevue followed up and was able to address my issues and offered a credit to cover the cost of the 50k service that I paid for. I appreciate the team there, along with Jesus, my service advisor for going the extra mile to correct these issues. Thanks!
Let me start off this review by saying that the sales representative that we dealt with, Derek was extremely kind and professional and I would happily deal with him again in the future. His kindness is probably the only thing making this a 2 star review instead of a 1 star. My wife and I came in to look at and potentially buy a used GLE 43 as we had been looking for a specific color and one popped up here at MB Bellevue. Derek was great and we decided to trade in our Golf Sportwagen and move forward with a purchase of the GLE.
From there onward we dealt with Finance. Finance was helpful at first and got us lined up with a maintenance plan and warranty. We wanted a warranty as the car we were trading in was under warranty. We were told that the one they offered was the best in the industry, that it was 5 years of great coverage, backed by automation and MB. We agreed and the deal was done. Upon closer inspection the warranty was only for 3 years not 5 as discussed, was not backed by Autonation or MB and was also from a company, Veritas, with absolutely terrible reviews regarding coverage and service.
When I asked about this warranty finance told us that the paperwork was wrong and that it was indeed 5 years of coverage and that Autonation backed any claims that Veritas didnât pay. Didnât say any of this on the paperwork we had but finance said they would send over corrected paperwork and details on the Autonation coverage that day. Never heard from them again. We decided to pass on the warranty and asked what the steps were to do that, finance said they would take care of it, again never heard anything again.
Meanwhile I inquired with the service department regarding the prepaid service plan we bought. They were surprised to find out that the car we bought was not serviced prior to my purchase. The GLE had 52k miles and should have had its 50k before sale, which it did not. The service advisor I spoke with, Jesus, was very kind and advocated that we should get the 50k at no cost as it should have been done already. We were informed that since the GLE was originally traded in at the Autonation BMW dealer down the street they could not do a service on the car prior to sale. So despite the fact that the car was listed on the MB Bellevue website, I inquired about the car via MB Bellevue, spoke with a MB Bellevue sales Associate, came and saw it at MB Bellevue and finally purchased it at MB Bellevue, the car was a BMW trade in and therefore not serviced. So now I am using one of my prepaid maintenance intervals to bring this GLE up to date on service. Absolutely ridiculous.
After about a month of not hearing anything from finance, I noticed that our trade in still wasnât paid off even though it was listed for sale on the MB Bellevue website and then removed, sold I assumed. So I called my bank, no payment made or payoff inquires sent from MB Bellevue or Autonation. In fact they now want proof of insurance as are still the legal owner technically lol. I called the new lender on the GLE as I had not heard from them either, no record of me as the loan had not been funded as no paperwork was sent to them to complete the loan is what they told me. I called MB Bellevue today to find out what the deal was and was transferred to finance who said they would find out and call me back in an hour. Guess what, no call back and no pickup when I tried to call back myself.
Moral of this ridiculous story is, customer service is questionable to poor at best after sale, they will likely sell your trade to another party before even paying it off. They will also avoid servicing a car and then ask you to cover the cost of the service they should have done in the first place. We like the GLE, but at this point are joking/wondering if we...
Read moreUPDATE. Changed from 5 star to 2.
Beware of buying your car from here. They will knowingly sell a car with issues and lie about having 90 day warranty coverage on their cars after purchase.
Editing my previous 5 star review to reflect my most current experience shortly after taking my car home.
I traveled several hours to come to this dealership (I live in the San Juans) and Iâll start from the smallest issue. After purchasing my car I asked them to mail my plates to me since I live so far away and they said they were happy to do that. They didnât mail my plates to me, they had them sitting at the dealership and not a word out of them. My temporary plates have expired and I still havenât received my plates from them, and after asking for confirmation that theyâve been mailed out itâs been crickets.
Second smallest issue, because I live so far away I called the day I wanted to come look at a particular car and the sales person ensured me yes it was still available. I called an hour before showing up at this dealership. So, I took the day off work, traveled several hours (about six round trip) to look at this car. Arrive to find out is was sold earlier so I drove out there for nothing. And in classic car salesman fashion i was shown a different car. One of which I did end up liking and deciding to purchase.
On to the bigger issues, within the first few days of taking the car home I noticed a weird chirping/ticking noise under the hood and at nearly the same time a notification popped up that my blind spot assist was inoperable.
Within two weeks of buying my car, my driverâs side window stopped functioning. It wonât roll all the way up/down and doesnât stay closed.
I find it hard to believe that this vehicle didnât have any of these issues prior to my purchase, but suddenly within days was having problems. So, I called ahead and wanted to make an appointment about all of these issues and the woman I spoke with told me there was a 90 day warranty on every single car they sold new or used. I also have the extended Powertrain warranty. So, I made the appointment - drove several hours and took the day off work only to have them tell me I had to pay multiple diagnostic fees. Not one, not two, but THREE for each individual issue. Mind you Iâve had this car for less than three weeks at this point.
Not to mention, I found out later from a friend the blind spot assist message can pop up when itâs too cold, or if my camera is obstructed, etc. They could have saved me one of the $250 diagnostic fees and explained this but instead were trying to squeeze every penny they could out of me.
They then told me that the 90 day warranty doesnât exist, because car is as is. So if they try to tell you they have this - theyâre lying.
Essentially - BUYERS BE AWARE. They knowingly sold me a car with multiple issues and dont care about customers once the car is sold. In typical, sleazy salesman fashion. Big disappointment. I expected better from a...
Read moreUSED LIKE NEW CAR - NO REFUND YET
I can't believe what happened to me at Bellevue Mercedes Benz during the car purchasing process. If you're thinking about buying a car, get ready for an experience like mine.
Last Thursday, 5/9, I paid in full for a new GLB from their inventory and was shocked when they brought it to me. It had chips on the driver's side door and center console, covered in dust, fingerprints, footprints, and marks. I paid cash for a NEW car, but this was the car they tried to sell me, as shown in the photos. When I asked for a repair or replacement, the manager came out blaming me and stating they sold the car at a loss, refusing to find a solution. While I was expressing my concerns calmly and respectfully, he just pushed me not to take the car in an angry tone.
The next day, I woke up early in anxiety since a huge amount of money had been withdrawn from my bank account, yet there was no car. I waited for an hour, hoping for a follow-up from the manager, but there was none until I asked them to let me know. The manager told me the same as the night before, asking me to either take it as is or return it. Of course, I told them I wouldnât take it. He said he would follow up with the refund, but that never happened up to this time.
It literally took two days to get to the point where I could actually see the car and walk around it. On the first day, they said the car (GAS car) was not ready, as its battery was charging, spent 3 hours but the car was not ready. On the next day, after all the payment and paperwork were done, I had to wait for 4 hours as they replaced the battery that had died. No proper apology or updates while waiting unless I asked.
If you get connected with a dealer here, don't expect answers to your questions. After receiving an email from the general manager asking about my experience, I mentioned my dealer didn't reply to my questions, hoping for a simple apology email. Instead, another dealer was assigned, and the previous one avoided me, making me uncomfortable.
With all these trials, I had to give up on the GLB, and they didn't give me any updates on the refund. I have no car with me. They took a huge amount of cash from my bank account, but no one is giving me any updates on the refund. I messaged the dealer twice - no reply. I emailed the general manager - no reply. I called them today, and someone told me my dealer would be in contact in 20 minutes, but that did NOT happen.
My precious time and mind were wasted, and it can't be compensated with anything! Be aware of their practices when shopping there. I will keep you posted on updates...
