The Pumphouse BaG is just what I needed the place to be. I had 45 min for lunch during an all-day class I was taking nearby. Way back in the day, pre-Covid, the last time I had an opportunity to take a professional development class, lunch would've been provided. I didn't realize, until I received the email from the organization the day before the class, that was no longer the case, and the students should brunch their own snacks and lunch. At my house, one does not have the capacity to accomplish this with such short notice. So I was flung out into the unknown lunch options in Bellevue. When I queried "quick lunch" The Pumphouse BaG" was the first hit sand it was the closest, so there I went. I pulled into the parking lot which was behind capacity, and was just lucky enough to nab the last illegal parking spot on the street. Mark, I'm into my lunch 45 by 10 I'm guessing at this point. I walk in and an greeted sad I do, and asked "how many?" I replied it was only me and asked if there was room at the bar. She pointed and said anywhere you like. I seated myself and within seconds, someone was next to me asking what is like to drink. I said iced tea, which she brought to me seconds later and asked if I knew what I wanted to eat, simultaneously handing new a menu. I looked quickly, place the menu on the bar, and she wear back. I ordered, was served, ate, payed my tab, and made three 4 min drive back to my class, waking into the building at the...
Read moreWill give 0 points if I can. Literally the worst I’ve experienced in the States and never thought I’d experience subtle racism like this in Bellevue area: me and my co-worker (we’re man both well over 30 years old) went there on a Sunday for lunch and catch up March Madness games. We sat down and were requested ID, I showed my ID, my co-worker happened to not having the ID on him (it’s Sunday!) but collaboratively showed the waiter his ID picture on the phone. They didn’t accept the digital form so we said okay we don’t have to order any alcoholic beverages we’ll just enjoy our food and watch the game. The waiters started to make a big deal saying they “simply cannot serve beyond that point or he could lose license” and in a way asked us to leave. I got a bit confused and offended trying to explain we have the right to just eat and we’re well over 21 they can see it. One of the waitresses looked at me and even said “you are not 21.” This was literally personal insults. We left and went to a bar a few miles away and were not even carded for drinks. Before we left this place I also noticed we were the only colored customer-to-be at that point in the restaurant, so I don’t know what it is besides abusing the so-called rules to discriminate us. This place owe me and my co-worker a sincere apology, literally the worst experience I’ve ever had in my 10 years...
Read moreTerrible atmosphere and it does not have an outdoor patio, like they say they do. Their so called patio is a couple of tables at the entrance of the pub so you have people continually walking by you. Or you can sit under a dingy soft covered gazebo which didn’t look very invited. We were going to get up and leave but were very hungry so we thought we would give it a chance. Walked in and told by server to seat ourselves. Sat there and waited for menus but eventually got up from our table and got our own menus. 2 servers running their butts off to keep up but weren’t able to efficiently keep up. 10 minutes later a pleasant server showed up to order drinks. 20 minutes before server came back for our order and another 20 minutes for our food to arrive. Food certainly wasn’t anything to brag about. I was very happy to get out of there. Also the point that there are reports of racism on here and there have been no replies from the owner or manager says a whole lot about this place. We will never be returning. Terrible experience!! Owner you better get your sh)t together or this dive is going...
