To preface my review, you should know that Metro 112 actually consists of two buildings: Phase I and Phase II - the latter being a newer building (built in 2018). This review is mainly for the Phase II building but has some commonalities with the Phase I building as well.
Having lived here for over a month now, I can fairly confidently say that Metro 112 is a great choice for anyone who is interested in moving to this area. First, the Phase II building itself is nice: the furnishing is very sleek and modern, I haven't had any issues with noise, and the appliances have been holding up. Certain areas of my unit do seem to have less support under the floor (you would barely notice, but it ever so slightly sinks when you stand on it), that said I'm not sure if other units also experience this issue. Other than that small issue, I can't think of any huge problems regarding the actual apartment itself. Second, the area surrounding the apartment is very convenient. There are 5 grocery stores within a 20 minute walking distance of the apartment, Best Buy and Home Depot are around a 15 minute walk away, and Bellevue Square and many other stores are also within a walkable distance. We are also right across from the Bellevue City Hall, so the area is not very shady either. Do keep in mind that we are situated on a hill, so that could be problematic for those who don't like walking up hills, or those who would find it physically difficult to do so. Last but not least, the apartment management team has been great in my experience. I was moving to Bellevue from a different country, and they were very helpful and patient with my move. They've let me send parcels and furniture to the apartment in advance and also helped me set up utilities beforehand (you may need to ask them first). Even after I've moved here and am locked into a one year lease, they have still been very friendly and helped me with many of my inquiries. Residents frequently receive emails from them informing us of the changes/programs they've implemented to make our stay here more enjoyable. The team is going to be the interface between you and many aspects of your resident life (parcels, repairs, lease, complaints, etc), so I think its crucial that you find a place with a great team, and I personally think Metro 112 does.
Also, a general tip regarding house/apartment hunting: definitely evaluate the true cost of the unit - consider not just rent, but other costs such as transportation (if you live closer to work or public transport you'll save on gas) and utilities. I find that the utilities here tend to be on the pricier end, and the apartment does include some additional services that you can't opt out of (e.g. trash valet). But, I feel like that's true of many apartments in this area, so definitely make sure to take those costs into account when you decide where to move.
Overall, with well built units, a great location, and a friendly and engaging team, I don't think you could go wrong. Metro 112 is a great apartment to consider for...
Read moreWe spent at this place 9 (nine) long years. Moved in 2013 and out in 2022.
It was awesome at first. Nice location, fairly new building, perfectly working trash chutes, and a friendly management team.
Then, the trash chutes started to break, simply because some residents would force huge cardboard boxes into them. The management, eventually, gave up on them. Disabled the “power doors” and the exhaust ventilation, as well as disconnected the actuators from the “power doors”.
Thus, in the old days, you would simply have to push a large red button, the door would open and the exhaust ventilation would start pulling the odors away from you.
After they disabled everything, you would have to open the door manually, with one hand, while trying to stick your trash bag into the chute with another hand, while holding the door of the chute closet with your left foot, so that it would not slam you on your back.
Back in February 2014, someone broke into my minivan parked in the garage, smashed the front passenger’s window, and stole my laptop, GPS unit, and a backpack with tools. I approached the management team for help, but no one seemed to care.
During the nine-year period, the staircases were NOT cleaned even a single time! They were - absolutely unsanitary, with stains, dust, trash, and somewhere (next to the Mail Room), there were traces of dog’s feces that they never cleaned up. Year after year, I would complete these “React” surveys for the Leasing Office, but no one ever seemed to care.
The corridors are stained and look horrendous, and so do the floors in the parking garage.
The building is now old. It keeps falling apart. We lost - one washer and 3 (THREE!!!) in-sink disposers!
But, the most frustrating thing is they raise the rent, along with the parking fee, all the time. By a lot. Considering the property’s condition and level of maintenance, it is NOT worth the money you would pay for it.
Back in August 2022, just before me moved out, someone broke into another resident’s vehicle and looted whatever was stored therein. Please, refer to the pictures herein.
Finally, someone keeps stealing packages from the area where package security lockers are located. Amazon drivers, as well as others, would simply dump you packages onto the floor and leave them unattended. My packages we stolen therefrom...
Read moreI've been a resident for 2 years and just moved out last month.
When I was living there, especially the first few months, it was a really good experience. Adam and Julia are very helpful and friendly.
After a few months Julia (got a promo?) moved away. The new leasing office lady I saw the most, Brittany, is not the most friendly staff as she didn't seem to care what issues you have and she just wanted you to go away - not as impressive customer service as Julia or Adam's.
The move-out process, on the other hand, was smooth until a month afterwards I receive a call from a debt collector to inform me of a $950 charge of cleaning fee, carpet fee, last 8 days rent, a late fee, and 3 days extra late fee.
I completely understand and agree that people should pay their bills and cleaning fee. I would like to point out though, that I was not informed in any means, either by email, phone, or mail prior to yesterday which was apparently 3 extra late days after the bill was due. The day I moved out I personally asked Brittany if she needed anything from me and if I needed to do anything more. She explicitly said no.
Metro112 had my phone number - they didn't call me. Metro112 had my email address - they didn't email me. They could've and should've asked me for a forwarding address, they didn't. They choose to directly add the late fee penalties and pass it to the debt collector - obviously they don't care about reputation or a word of recommendation from their former tenant, all that matters is the money.
I find it reasonable to inform someone when they should pay a bill before charging a late fee, but this was not the case.
If you decide you really want to move there, please keep in mind that they don't care if you know about charges or not - you have to be extra careful especially when moving out to call them a few times to make sure you really have no action to make. As for cleaning & carpet fee, don't bother cleaning your apartment before moving out at all as although I kept my apartment spotless, never spilled any food/drink on the carpet, vacuumed every corner prior to moving out, the $170 charge...
