I went in to mail a very light box with a value of $20. They first said it would be $20 to send it, I asked if there was another option and they said they could send it through USPS for $10, still high but i’m already there so I say yes. They put my item in a padded manila envelope and get it ready to send. They try and send twice and the system would not let them send it using the USPS. I said I would handle it myself as I was not going to pay $20 to ship a $20 item. They then said, ok “well I will just ring you up for the bubble wrap”. I stated I didn’t need it as I would probably just bring the item with me next time I flew to see my son. They informed me that since it was sealed they could not reuse it and would have to charge me. They said they couldn’t do anything with it. It’s not the money, it was only $4.18. My issue is, you offered a service, you couldn’t provide now I’m eating the cost of your mistake? I would have been fine if you had me pay half of the retail rate since I didn’t use it, but $4.18 on a padded manila envelope? Your cost is less than a $1. We all have all choices where we...
Read moreVery arrogant and disorganized. They have self-service kiosk and are very impatient with people who do not use the kiosk. Like it’s my choice to use or not use the kiosk, I don’t feel safe leaving my $10000 package on the counter, do they not understand? Or do they only ship $20 packages so they don’t have any empathy for people who buy expensive things? The kiosk has no lock or even a “drop-off” area, packages that are scanned using kiosk are literally just left outside the counter for anybody to pick up. Anyone could come into the store and pick up any packages that people are going to ship and steal them. This UPS store is literally the worst I’ve ever been to in my life and I’ve been to at least 20 UPS stores in Seattle area. They will yell at people who don’t use kiosks but their kiosks have no safety feature. Even USPS knows if you’re gonna leave your package in a drop box the box should not be able to open from outside by anyone. This...
Read moreThe UPS representative that assisted me was amazing. I waited maybe 3 minutes for being helped. I'm a bit technically challenged and the male representative was patient and talked me through forwarding a pre-paid label I had received. It didn't work. I gave him my phone and he got the job done in seconds. Even though he had a mask on (as did I), I could tell that he had a smile on his face that came through in the kind tone in his voice. He was respectful, patient and personable. Great employee. I was grateful for his help. Also, this particular location is a few blocks away from my office, which makes it convenient when we've missed the pick-up deadline for our building. I've been in this store often and it's always clean and the employees are always helpful. Plus there are ample disabled parking spots...
