I have been going to this smoothie for a few years now. The smoothies are great but the owner allows his employees to be rude and disrespectful. I usually never have a problem with any of the employees. But today I said good morning how are you? And this tall, dark haired, and skinny white guy ignored me. He Just went straight to asking what can he get for me? I addressed the fact that I told him good morning and he ignored me. So he claims that he’s not playing that with me today and he refused service because I simply said that when someone is saying good morning that he should have the courtesy to acknowledge it. I also asked for his name and he refused to give me his name and said he doesn’t have to. He also told me that I need to leave the store. Then someone else walks in that not black and his tone suddenly changes and he becomes professional. I was in there today January 24th, at 10:25 am. I don’t if it’s discrimination or having a bad day. But this is not how business should be conducted. I suggest people take their...
Read moreThis place is completely irresponsible in regards to their employees and their customers. My husband and I stopped in last week after a doctor's appointment because my husband is currently unable to eat solid food. It was a mistake. The young lady behind the counter who was making the smoothies was not wearing a mask or gloves. I watched MANY people walk into their shop unmasked and there was no enforcement or encouragement of proper Covid-19 protocols. Which was not exactly something I expected given their "health conscious" image. When I tried to politely address the issue via phone and Emerald City's Facebook page, I received no response. That is, until I finally left a FB review and the owner brushed me off, politely implied that I was lying about my "observations". I've included a screenshot of his response. I...
Read moreI've been a regular customer here for at least two years, but recently, the experience has gone downhill. Every time I order a smoothie now, they throw away about a quarter of it, even when I order the 32oz size. They pack the smoothie with so much ice that you end up getting less of the actual drink, which means less protein, especially if you've paid extra to add more protein or fruit. It feels wasteful. What’s frustrating is that they said "We have been told to throw out the remaining instead of giving it to customers, no matter the size". So even after switching to a larger size just to make sure I get the full amount of protein, I’m still left short. I've never encountered this policy at any other smoothie place. It’s disappointing to see such a customer-unfriendly change at a spot I used to...
