I came in to shop, and have always thought I was judged by the people who work there. I convinced myself it was all in my head as I ventured in again. After going through the store and standing at the check out counter I could hear employees (one I think is the owner) literally talking about me 15 ft away as I was checking out. No matter how many times I told her I didn’t want to try on the shirt I was carrying she kept popping up and asking to take it from me to a dressing room. I didn’t think it was something I needed to try on and kept saying that repeatedly through my journey through the store, but she would not give up. Standing my ground clearly upset her as I could hear her conversation about me while I was paying (not in my head, they were both speaking loudly and looking at me at the register). I think she just sized me up as “doesn’t belong” and didn’t want me walking around with a product in my hands (even though I PURCHASED IT at the end). Side note: The super nice girl with the Australian accent seemed embarrassed that they were doing that...
Read moreThis is one of the best boutique clothing stores in Bend. Great brands that are super high quality like Sanctuary and Hard Tail. The customer service is what sets this place apart. A couple of years ago I remember trying on some clothes and the clerk brought a couple of other things to me that I never would have thought of just looking at them on the rack. Well I tried them on and they became my favorite dresses and shirts that season!
This year I wanted to buy a maxi dress but because I am nursing my infant I was worried about wearing it. They offered to have some alterations done by a local seamstress that would allow me to nurse easily while wearing the dress (for free)! Then this past week something happened with a pair of jeans I had bought (strange stain from the label) - they took the jeans to a local dry cleaner, had the stain removed and paid for it. In sum - this place takes...
Read moreAs a person of color, this store's poor customer service left me leaving in tears. I walked in with my family, looking to shop for a special occasion. The four/five staff members were breathing down our necks at every section of the store. "Are you finding everything alright?" would come out of their mouths, but we felt their eyes burning into our heads.. My husband purchased some boots for me & the cashier would not let him pay until "the rest of the party was finished shopping". After the completed transaction, I could not stand being inside the store. My husband went back and spoke to management. Who we believe to be the store owner, said "We have seen trusted clients steal before", so that's why they were following four guests of color all over the store? I am not exaggerating when I say that the store clerk snatched the boots from my hands after I...
