I've been to a lot of Orangetheory studios and this is by far the worst one I've ever seen. Not only do they charge you $10 if it isn't your home studio (even if your home studio is already a premium location), they are not especially welcoming to cross-regional members.
Even though it's in a nice location with a cool atrium area where you can wait, the studio itself isn't very impressive and needs a lot of TLC that they clearly aren't willing to give it. I didn't even want to shower here because the facilities were small and uninviting. The worst part is that none of the lockers work (and I mean none of them). Most of them are stuck in the locked position despite being open, which means you can't actually close or lock them without obtaining the master key from the front desk, which it didn't seem like most regulars even bothered doing - and yet none of the regulars even seemed to bat an eye at the poor state of the lockers (clearly it's not a new issue). A bunch more lockers don't even lock at all and just spin endlessly.
The icing on the cake was when I asked the front desk whether any of the lockers worked, they claimed that they're supposed to be that way and that I just didn't know how to use them properly. They wouldn't admit that their lockers were just all broken, even though my home studio in Maryland has literally the same model of lockers and I never have any issues with them.
I'm never coming back to this studio and would advise anyone visiting from out of town just to take the Orange Line a few stops up to Assembly and go to the much nicer studio there that doesn't...
Read moreI really want to give OTF 5 stars. It’s an amazing studio with incredible coaches (shout out to Emma!), super personable front desk staff, and a great variety of HIIT classes daily. My big issues is with the strict cancellation policy- it is especially unfair to women who experience difficult monthly periods that are unpredictable and unpreventable. There should be a “one class per month” exception to this policy. I completely understand you can’t have people canceling whenever they “feel” like it - that’s not good for the student or the studio and coaches, But it does feel extremely inhuman to tell someone “sorry to hear that you’re not well- you’re still gonna be charged $14 dollars ON TOP of the $210 you spend here monthly- them the rules!” Come on….be decent. I’m also really disappointed this studio did away with the Lift Class. Weight training is probably THE most important aspect of fitness, especially for women, and this was turning into my favorite class of the week. It was sad to see it completely nixed. It made no sense really- my Weds 10am class was full and I’d never seen so many happy, smiling faces. Please bring it back, market it, talk it up- they will come! With all that said, OTF has changed my life! I’m stronger, healthier and more confident at 44 than I’ve ever been in my life! My husband and I are both huge fans and I would encourage anyone, of any fitness level, to give it at least a year and see how it changes your...
Read moreI used to go to Orangetheory at least twice a week and I truly loved it till Covid hit, my account was frozen for more than a year which the business allowed it, then started with virtual classes, this is when the issues started happening. I had a few virtual classes in total, in one of them I heard the coach laughing on other side (sounded like she was making fun of me doing the moves which is totally unprofessional) and then she started not showing up in my sessions and canceling 30 minutes after the start time by telling she had internet connection issues. When I told them I’m done with it and don’t wanna go back and asked them to stop my membership they didn’t listen to me and kept charging me. At the end my credit card company had to change my card number so they could not charge me anymore! I requested to talk to the manager several times and emailed/called her but she never got back to me! The issue in this location starts with an awful management! It’s an unfortunate to not be able to go back because I really loved...
