I had a terrible experience at this facility taking a Red Hat exam and I’d like to warn others.
When I showed up I sat at the unmanned reception area for 20 minutes and started to worry I’d miss my start time. Eventually I saw a sticky note on the counter instructing me to go to the back office area. Maybe have a proper sized upright sign instead of a sticky note? Or check the lobby if you know someone is arriving for an appointment.
About halfway through my 3 hour exam the employees decided to loudly take their lunch break outside the testing room. This place has no soundproofing! So instead of focusing on my exam I was distracted by their loud conversations. Then after lunch some sort of class was going on in another room and I could hear everything.
In addition to the noise, the laptop they had me test on was filthy. Like covered in visible dust and grime. Maybe wipe it down occasionally if you're running a professional test center?
In summary, do not schedule a test here if you expect a quiet or comfortable...
Read moreTook 2 classes at Sunset Learning Institute. Great and knowledgeable instructors, something I needed as I went in knowing very little of UCM and nothing about UCCE. Have not put either to use but at least when I am in conversation, I have some knowledge when spoken to about both topics. Did only thing I found challenging at times were the labs, the "flow" of the labs was not consistent. Sometimes they are step-by-step and other times they leave some guess work to get through them, more so the UCCE that was a Beta class and aside from leaving some guessing, somewhat at a lose not know the topic to begin with. The overall experience; the location, instructors. admin and everyone associated with Sunset, was great and I would definitely take any other courses necessary with Sunset...
Read moreI have remotely attended 3 classes through Sunset and feel that they were well worth it. The instructors have been VERY knowledgeable about the technologies they presented and they ran very smoothly. Labs are tough to review because of each student’s knowledge base. Two of my three courses were more useful to me than the third. Each lab should be step-by step with nothing assumed as ‘common knowledge’. If you are a beginner anything assumed can completely derail your lab experience and leave you frustrated and befuddled. But, the overall experience of all 3 courses was positive because I learned something new! Sunset is a great resource for information and I would highly recommend subscribing...
