I'm a bit of an awkward dweeb (like I won the Elden Ring Collective Speedrun, just ask Storm) so it can be tough for me to feel comfortable walking into the hustle and bustle of a modern barbershop. I typically don't enjoy letting humanoids use scissors and loud buzzing machines within a centimeter or two of my central processing unit, not to mention my exposed seeing and hearing modules. Part of me even questions the value of proper grooming given my reclusive gamer/programmer lifestyle. Storm is the only barber I've found who can accommodate my socially anxious needs while still doing an amazing job. I always leave with a smile on my face and my hair looking great!

I can go into a little more detail. I had been trying to find a barber for a while. It's always an uncomfortable process for me and I have a pretty bad hairline so that complicates matters. I'm a simple guy, all I'm really looking for is shorter on the sides, longer on top, but in a way that LOOKS. GOOD. When I first sat down with Storm I started explaining EVERYTHING to them. "Well see how my hair does a zig zag zoopy doop over here and a bing bang boppy wopp right here and a curly swirly blahby blah so we need to cut it all rinky dink with a loopy doop so that I can shoopy shoop and make it look all boopy boop, does that make SENSE?!!" Storm gave me a little pat on the head, told me everything was going to be okay, and that haircuts like mine are their bread and butter. I recently had a great experience getting a haircut from Hannah at The Jade Rabbit in Charlotte. She was quite welcoming, and took the time to understand what I was looking for in a haircut. The crew cut that I got is quite possibly the best that I’ve gotten.

There’s sufficient natural light inside which makes the environment even more pleasant. The parking is convenient(and free for a couple of hours) too in the adjoining Savoy Apartments.

I forgot to ask the name of the pomade that she used at the end, but oh well, next time!

All in all it was a 10/10 experience at the Jade Rabbit, and I’m already looking forward to my next haircut here.

Storm is so passionate about what she does—she's been cutting my hair for a while, and I love the creative flair she adds to every style.

Because I prefer short androgynous hairstyles, it took me a while to find a barber/stylist who wasn't afraid to experiment a little. I've stuck with Storm because she's got a knack for putting her own spin on gender-neutral hairstyles I've found on sites like Pinterest, and because she's LGBTQ-friendly.

I always get compliments on my hair when Storm cuts it, so I don't hesitate to recommend her to anyone who asks.
