Went here with the intention to celebrate my husband’s birthday well I should have done more research on the place because we drove over an hour to get there as did those who were joining us. Now the information I found on Google had their opening time for Sunday at 12:00 noon but upon our arrival we see signage on the door that they don’t open until 1:00 o’clock so we had entertain ourselves until they opened. Which we did. When it was time to head back to the restaurant we did with the excited thought we would probably be some of the first people there, well when we entered the restaurant that wasn’t the case there was already a party of at least 8-10 people who had already been seated and drink order taken these people were there to celebrate someone’s birthday as well they had a beautiful ballon centerpiece displayed which I’m sure they brought with them. Now there was no greeter at the little podium that sits off to the left of the 2nd set of double doors upon entering so we stood there for what seemed like a good 3-4 minutes maybe a little longer before someone came over who may have been the manager to greet us at which time we were informed that in order to be seated we had to have a reservation and was asked if we had one when we responded that we didn’t have a reservation we were told that the entire restaurant had been booked for the day and that there were no available tables by this person who may or may not have been the manager. He then told us we were more than welcome to wait 30 minutes to see if someone would cancel and we could get their table because sometimes they did get cancellations. Mind you this is another 30 minutes of waiting on top of the hour we had already waited due to the information on their opening time on Google being incorrect. Of course we chose not to wait and went somewhere else but before leaving the restaurant I inquired as to why the information on Google was incorrect for their Sunday opening time. I was told that the correct opening time was on their actual website and that they had submitted the correct time to Google but that it takes months sometimes before they get around to changing it. Well as of last week Google now reflects the correct opening time for Sunday for this restaurant. I will say this is an experience I never want to have again and because of experience I now call restaurants to verify times of operation as well as if a reservation...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that the food was really quite good. It is one of the better Brazilian steakhouses we've eaten at and we've eaten at too many at this point. Except for the pao de queijo/cheese bread. It was pretty dry and came out pretty oddly. But that isn't why we go to a Brazilian steakhouse, just an added bonus. The meats were almost universally good. The chicken thigh was relatively bland and kinda dry and we never saw the beef ribs until after they cleared our plates and silverware. The service was incredibly disappointing. First, we waited over twenty minutes to be greeted and were seated well after our reservation. The manager said we'd have the meats at our table as soon as we sat down. It was about five minutes. There were times when we had a gaucho presenting meets a few times a minute and then times where we didn't see one for 5-10 minutes. That makes it incredibly hard to plan your meal and choices. I'm fact, we were in the restaurant for about 110 minutes, and only saw the beef ribs once, while we were waiting for them to take my credit card so we could leave. It also took about 15 minutes for them to bring the check after we had clearly finished our food(we didn't even have silverware anymore). All in all, getting the bill and having them take out credit card to about half an hour, including several minutes of trying to get direct sure contact to get there attention to pick up the check. It's pretty frustrating to spend so much time waiting just to be able to pay and leave. This is after the manager who sat is expressed that he has no idea why, but customers were moving so slowly and spending about two hours at the tables. Well, when you spend so much time simply trying to pay, it take time to get out. Not too mention the long periods of time waiting between gaucho appearances. Also, I say with an empty water glass for about thirty minutes across two instances. I think they only checked on our water once, the other time we had to flag them down. There is clearly an issue with staffing here and I can be sensitive to that, but I'm still paying full price and getting a pretty lacking experience. Not sure we'll be back when Charlotte...
Read moreI'm disappointed in our experience at Estampa Gaucha. I treated my boyfriend for his birthday to one of his favorite food experiences- a Brazilian steakhouse! We've been to numerous ones in the past in both Chicago and Tampa. This was our first time visiting a location in Charlotte. I did my research and was between booking here or Rios. I landed reserving a night at Estampa's. The food was a 7/10. Some of the chicken was far too salty to enjoy or consume, but taste is always up to personal preference. Where things went south with our experience was the alcohol. We ordered a bottle off the wine list and they did not have it in stock.. No problem, we picked the closest tasting other option. At the end of our dinner, we noticed the server and manager/owner walking around visiting each table with a bottle of liquor and juice. He seemingly poured a glass for every person at the other tables. The employees walk over to our table and describe the purpose of the liquor as a digestive and immediately begins to pour us two glasses and chit chats. After they asked for our opinion on the taste, they brought over another round to drink. Well, the check comes around and to my entire shock and surprise they had charged us nearly $60 for 4 tiny glasses of this liqueur. I felt so slighted by the employees and lack of communication and deceit that I did not want to ruin the night for my boyfriend's birthday. Why in God's name are you not disclosing that this is not apart of the experience/complimentary? It's shady and unprofessional. $60 would have covered an entire other person's meal at your restaurant. I will not be back and a word to the wise that visit this place, start asking questions to your servers because they clearly aren't trained on disclosing what is included in the dining experience.
We will not be returning and would rather dine at a restaurant that is clear and transparent to...
