Beyond Amazing Donuts — Restaurant in Charlotte

The name is very fitting because these are the best donuts I have had! The shop is very cute with an anime mural and a beautiful display case of all of the donut varieties. And the varieties are so creative! One of the ones I tried was a chocolate honeycomb donut and it had chocolate glaze as well as chocolate filling and pieces of honeycomb on top. It was delicious! I also tried the vanilla glaze, which sounds a bit plain, but when I tell you it was absolutely delicious! It has the perfect amount of sweetness without being over the top sweet, and the texture of these donuts! They don't have that thick cakey-ness that makes donuts feel heavy and dense but they also aren't like those super light donuts that feel like they aren't worth the calories. The texture is exactly what I think of when I imagine what a donut should be like. The staff was incredibly kind and upbeat, even though it was a very busy time when I went, and the owner was there working and also taking the time to talk to and greet customers. I have seen this place on Instagram, and I've always wanted to try out the doughnuts. Well, I finally had a chance to stop in, and let me tell you, EVERYTHING was superb! From the customer service to the doughnuts, everything was awesome! That brown butter doughnut is the bomb.com.!!! In addition to the brown butter doughnut, we chose the cookies and cream, sweet potato fritter, classic vanilla, and one with the crumbles on the top (sorry, forgot the name of that one, lol). I KNOW that they will all be just as delicious!!! The doughnuts are light fluffy, it has great texture! They had a good variety of doughnuts! You can't go wrong, lol! The gentleman that helped us gave the best customer service; he was kind, helpful, he explained the doughnuts, made recommendations, and he even let us know that we could call ahead to expedite our order if we ever needed to. Flew to Charlotte for some B.A.D. donuts!!

I had to fly from NY to Austin, an option included stopping in Charlotte for a 3 hour layover and I JUMPED on the opportunity to make sure I made it over to B.A.D.! I ordered a half dozen box: the black garlic (a nice sweet and savory donut), a classic vanilla frosted (so light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious!), honey pistachio (it has a wonderful pistachio filling that is divine!), apple fritter (perfect blend of spices with little apple bits on top! Yum!), maple old fashioned (such a delightful treat to a classic!), and last but not least, a cinnamon roll. Listen that roll was rollin!!! Cinnamon in every bite, layered with the frosting was absolute heaven!

The donuts are displayed in this beautiful case for customers to see exactly what they’re getting. You have visual of the hard working staff making these delectable treats, the decor is beautifully and uniquely set with the martian/alien logo and pictures of the owners fondest memories.
