discovering a place like Ari’s. Not the comfort of a chain restaurant or a bright, soulless grocery store but something slower and more personal. Like stepping into a friend’s kitchen in Palermo or wandering into a wine shop in Rome where no one speaks English and no one needs to.
Ari’s is where I go when I want Italy without the noise. When I want to skip the parking lot madness and still walk away with something special. The shelves are lined with products you do not just stumble across. Pastas that come with history. Wines that would never show up at Trader Joe’s. Everything here is intentional. Everything here has character.
Then there is Taylor. He is the kind of person who makes hospitality feel effortless. No fake smiles. No sales pitch. Just a quiet confidence and a genuine care for what he is sharing. The kind of welcome that makes you want to stay and talk, even if you only came in for a bottle of wine.
The happy hour is not filler. It is full of smart choices and surprises. It feels curated by someone who actually drinks the wine and eats the food. Someone who wants you to enjoy it the way they do.
If you are downtown and craving something Italian that actually feels like Italy, skip the restaurants and go to Ari’s. It is not a shop. It is a portal. A place that reminds you why...
Read moreAri's is an exemplary market and a very welcome addition downtown. It is very crisp, impeccably clean & well stocked with everything you could need. I made the most extraordinary Tuscan chicken thanks to their surfeit of grape termaters. The pasta options are a bombastic burst of hearts eyes.
My only quibble is the sound. I am not sure what music service they use but the commercials decimate the ambiance & send me running for the exit. I'd also like to see a more clear separation in the ice cream freezer because I accidentally bought plant-based gelato and didn't catch it because it was mixed with the dairy based. Please put those on different shelves.
The staff is extraordinary very kind, welcoming & well versed in all things cheese and I adore the availability of complimentary fresh basil, oregano & Rosemary. Would love some hot breakfast options. Taco Deli was awesome optiomn w prior market

Read moreAwful!! I went inside to get an ice cream with my friend. I am not from Dallas just visiting. I was asked very nicely by a homeless man (in the store) if I could buy him a sandwich and a drink. I said yes. As I am paying for the ice cream and food a Manager? Owner? Said ma’am don’t do that. I said it’s ok I don’t mind. He said we take care of our own don’t do that. I told him I can spend my money however I want. He then followed me out the door hollering at me that I am not allowed back in store. If you don’t want homeless people in your store than you should stand at your door and ask them to leave. Instead you took my money and treated me like garbage and told me I’m not allowed in your store. To which I replied “ I’m getting on a plane tomorrow not a problem” Is this how you take care of your own? By kicking out people that don’t know your personal rules? Your store did not say don’t feed the...
