If I could give my experience 0 stars I would to be honest. I waited a week to write this review because I'm not really one to write negative reviews but I really felt I needed to share my experience with Erika. I was at the salon for 8 hours (the longest it's taken anyone to do my hair) and still left the salon with my hair looking like i hadn't just gotten it done. I am a very light blonde and my roots were brassy and dull when I left. She did 3 different toners on me and washed them out immediately instead of letting the first toner sit like every other salon has ever done on my hair. She was an hour late to my appointment (I was her first client in the morning) and even when she got there she kept leaving me for long periods of time before I was completely foiled. I found her on Instagram and thought I was going to love my experience and I really wanted to, but I ended up paying $190 for a full highlight with no cut and for a service that was the worst I have ever had. Then I had to pay even more to have someone at another salon fix what she had done because I didn't want to step foot in that salon again. I definitely won't be going back or recommending anyone to this salon.
Update: 9/23 - 25 days later this salon proceeded to make the situation worse. No one reached out to me days or a week after my appointment in August. Instead 25 days later the stylist sent me a text asking if there was anything they could do for me to take my review down. I proceeded to tell her that the only thing that would make this right for me would be a full refund. She responded that the salon doesn’t offer refunds and she was thinking more that I could come in for some blowouts/deep conditioners. I told her I didn’t feel that was enough to compensate for how much time I was at the salon, how many times she left me sitting there unfoiled, and how I left upset with how my hair looked. Not to mention I had to pay someone else to fix it. A very experienced stylist who said it didn’t even look like I had just gotten my hair done. She then basically told me that I was wrong and sent me 6 different before and after pictures. I have gone to multiple salons with my hair in the same condition as the before photos she sent me and they had ZERO problem getting my hair to what I asked for. I have literally never had this problem with any stylist I have seen. Hence the reason I have never written a bad review before this one. I have also never asked for a refund anywhere else. So instead of making this situation better, 25 days later they just made me mad all over again. I will make sure I let everyone I know not to go...

Was that supposed to be a dark scary growl in the night? ..a random urge to "virtually" trill that famous Spanish Double R at unsuspecting google review readers "Olé" 💃🏼 👏🏽👏🏽? ..Maybe the impersonation of a car that won't start 😹🤔.. hmmm..I could go all day with that one; but I'll spare you-🕵🏼♀️ (it's obvious a pirate did it anyway...duh) Jokes aside, I gotta make sure to say to anyone reading this; I've always had a great experience at Studio 1514. I sure hope anyone who read that bogus review by "me" did not choose another salon due to this. I love all the ppl at the salon and know they are all great at what they do. Katie R. is no longer there making mermaids since opening her own salon, but Erika is an amazing mermaid maker, along with many others! They are experts in their industry; brilliant colorists, full-range stylists who consult w/one another for best results for clients; and just happen to provide a brilliant venue ambiance as well. Read moreI can’t speak on the hair treatment, but I was left extremely disappointed with Haneen El-Hallaq, who does eyebrows and eyelashes at this salon. I was here in October 2018.
Not only was she unprepared for my appointment (her excuse being she was in New York the day before and doesn’t do lash perms often — so she didn’t have the necessary chemicals), she was rude and had me wait close to an hour for my appointment.
Possibly the most ridiculous part of this appointment was that I had reached out to her earlier in the morning to ask if it would be OK to switch the appointment to a later time. She said no because she was “all booked for the day.” This wasn’t true, because when I got there, she asked if I wanted to wait or reschedule for later in the day.
Had she checked her inventory to make sure everything was set to go before hand, this all could have been avoided.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, when she returned from buying the chemicals, she said: “I went all the way to Mesquite to get these treatment chemicals” — as if she was doing me a favor in getting what was needed for my appointment. As this was my first eyelash perm, I did not feel at ease.
I was shocked that she wouldn’t own up to her mistake and was disgruntled — she was irresponsible and unprepared , as a professional should never be. It’s none of my business what someone does before or after my appointment, but a professional is expected to be prepared for ALL his or her appointments, without excuse. It’s necessary to check your inventory and guarantee success for a client before even accepting an appointment.
If it were me, I would have given a discount or some kind of gift — not including another service — to make it up to the customer. The perm lasted one month at best. I definitely will not be back nor...
