Update: Liz, the Director of Operations reached out personally to help rectify the situation. She offered me a free service, which I agreed to come in for a Hand Repair. The service was relaxing and the conversation was good. My nails look really good as well. I went to the Frisco location for this service. Overall, I’m glad at the outcome of the situation. Thank you Liz for making this right.

Original Review: I bought a gift card to The Gents Place as part of a basket at a silent auction to help support a worth cause. I had a “luxury razor shave” with Gale and this was my experience… also this was my first time to The Gents Place:

The concierge said to get there 10 minutes early and I would get a tour of the facility and to get a drink. I got my drink but did not get a tour of the facility. Supposed to be a 60 minute service (according to the concierge) was only a 30 minute service (was brought back at 3:17 and was walked to the front at 3:50) Heard another Stylist talking crap about a customer… she may have been joking but I couldn’t tell Missed a spot on my cheek (I’m going to have to shave this myself when I get home) Cut me on my chin and there’s several black spots from where she cut me and put something on it to cover it up (I feel like I look like the Grinch in that one scene where he first shaves) The razor pulled on my skin and irritated my skin – it was not sharp enough The receptionist told me “what would you like to leave for a tip” instead of “would you like to leave a tip” and that really put a sour taste in my mouth as it felt as if it was not optional, even though I’m obviously going to tip.

In conclusion, even though I had a gift card, I do not feel like I got my moneys worth for the service. I don’t think I will ever return to The Gents Place. I called the concierge and they took my notes from above. A member of the operations management team is supposed to reach out and I will update my review...

As a member, my experience with The Gents Place has been outstanding over the past few years. If you haven’t been here yet, then I would strongly recommend you try it out! That is, only if you are looking for outstanding service, a relaxing atmosphere, and professional staff - all at a great value. This is the place every man needs to be getting his hair done! Plus, they do more than just haircuts! I’ve been very pleased with the beard trim and straight edge razor services. The straight edge services are an unforgettable experience that I guarantee not only you will love, but also your significant other. They have many other services available that satisfy a variety of needs, depending on the type of man you are. The staff here is incredible! The front desk is always professional and courteous, and do a great job of making me feel welcome and comfortable. I also love the ability to call/text them to schedule or make changes to my appointments. Kevin is my favorite stylist - he is simply the best! He does an incredible job every time I come in and gives me a consistent look that I don’t have to worry about changing. I love that he really listens to what I’m looking to do with my hair or beard, and then follows through and blowing my mind every time. He is professional, understanding, polite, and most of all really easy to have a conversation with (without it feeling like small talk). I feel valued in that we have meaningful conversations each month and that he remembers what is going on in my personal life. I’m proud to say that I’ve been able to build a relationship with him since he started providing my services each month. Cassie is a top-notch hair stylist and does an expert job of making me look my best. Specifically, she has an exceptional attention to detail on all of the little things, taking her time to get those right so that when it’s done and I look in the mirror, it all comes together and I don’t have to worry that any component of the stylist’s art has been subpar or missed (I know it when I see it, and it feels awesome to leave the chair when she’s done).

For my particular case, I like it really short in a way that’s challenging to get just right, but Cassie figures out the whole picture – top part, bangs, sides, in such a way that other people don’t always get right when you just leave it to their devices. I don’t have to tell her, because she takes pride in her craft to the nuances and details, and the skills and experience show – always a great end result that is MUCH appreciated.

Included in this attention to nuances and details is not just the cut, but also in my case the coloring (no one has any idea it’s there -- it’s very expertly done with product that works effectively). It’s uplifting how much better and younger she makes me look when I leave the chair, and I’m happy to fool the hell out of people with her help – feels...
