The Loon — Restaurant in Dallas

March 25, 2024 myself and a few friends came to this establishment to have an evening out with food and drinks. It was raining and we went inside to stay dry and wait for a table to come available. A waiter came by and informed us to stand by the door and Trivia will be ending soon so that we could grab a seat. shortly after the manager a short lady with the bob came over to us being very nasty and rude, she stated I need yall to go outside because it's to crowded, mean while their was no one in the door other than just us and standing to the side. so I made the statement is their a reason your asking is to go outside in a rude way, she proceeds to smack her lips and roll her eyes and open the door starting at us like you need to move right now. I again ignored her she was being very rude with her delivery and I again asked her is this your way of asking us can we step outside, she stated whatever and mumbled something. I had to tell her again that she was being very nasty and rude and she tries to switch up to being nice after she sees other people noticing her behavior. I will never step another foot into this place to be treated nasty and expect my to spend me money for unwanted treatment. do not go here as a black person if you don't want to experience the racist treatment by the owner the short white lady...

Stopped in on a Tuesday night with a very large pub crawl group, so I'd be very understanding if the service were slow with this unexpected abundance of patrons. There was one waiter for the entire place. Got a beer quickly, then ordered some food. So far, so good. Saw other people come in after us and eventually get food. Okay, still being patient. Still one dude waiting on all tables. Someone mentioned they met the owner there sitting at a table. I'm wondering why they didn't start waiting tables themselves to help this poor guy out.

Waiter dude came by and apologized and said they're working on it. Still, more new people arrived and got their food. We finally politely left, after 2 hours, with no food. Again, I would have given them 5 stars with a 1.5 hour wait considering the circumstances (that we partially caused), but 2 hours and no help from management?

I'll stop by again some day and give them another chance. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and everything...

Wonderful elevated patio overlooking McKinney. In cool weather it's enclosed with plastic sheeting (this sounds worse than it is), and warmed with a heater.

The bar itself is a wonderful assembly of stone and tile and wood. Quite beautiful in an Uptown kind of way. The bar has three huge wide screen TVs behind it and three smaller screens to serve the tables opposite the bar.

It offers more than a few bottled and canned beers, but none on tap. There is a fair selection of booze but almost no top shelf that I could observe.

The Chicken Tuscan I ordered was excellent. The Chicken itself a little tough but the sauce superlative; the pasta Al dente and subsumed into the sauce. Just wonderful.

I don't know how this place survives in Uptown. It's small, not spectacular, no bands, nothing particularly to distinguish itself from dozens of other bars in the area. But I like the mellow vibe and can definitely...
