Close Your Eyes, Point, and Find Outstanding Music. This store has 1/8 the selection of any of the better record stores in Denver...Quality over Quantity. As an audiophile I've seen my fair share of record stores (LP for Life). What makes Toast special is the musical sensibilities of the owner. We started flipping through the albums in the usual manner expecting to reject 80% of the selections; halfway through the second row it occurred to me...I would have happily purchased any of the past 50 records I just flipped through. And that's the beauty of this store! There are NO bad albums. Want to expand into a new genres of music? Make the trip to this establishment. Just pick any Punk, Rap, Americana, Soul, etc Record and you are off to a great start. Questions? Ask the guy behind the counter and you won't be led astray. We came into Durango from Colorado Springs for a 4th of July weekend family getaway. While browsing the downtown area, we came upon this little gem! Not only did I have the same idea for a record store/bakeshop, but I was pleasantly surprised to find an awesome variety of alternative country and punk rock records! Great minds think alike! The owners were super friendly. So glad we could support a small business like this! We basically got one of each of their baked goods. Everything was amazingly buttery and homemade tasting. I was in town for a week and happened by this shop on my walk through downtown Durango. The store was nice, clean, and simple. It was well organized and everything was properly stored etc, etc. Most of all, the guy at the checkout counter was very nice (a good combo of pleasantries, vinyl talk, and letting me poke around peacefully) and even gave me some really cool toast record stickers which I now have proudly displayed on my water bottle.
