Aquatic Adventures Boat Rental — Local services in Fort Lauderdale

My experience with the owner was horrible. I took my family down for a long weekend and decided to rent one of their boats. Made a reservation on Saturday to take a 25' twin engine boat out on the ocean side and was asked if I had ever driven a twin engine and I said no however I did mention that I have a boat and am experienced in driving boats, the person taking the reservation said that he would show me the difference but would not be a big deal. I called the next morning to confirm the reservation and to make sure I went to the right place as I called a few different renters. I ended up talking to, who I think was the owner, and when I confirmed that I was taking the twin engine boat he asked me if I had ever drove a twin engine which I told him the same thing I told the other guys and he immediately became rude and said that he was not going to let me take his boat out and "mess it up" because I have never driven a twin engine boat before. When I told him that I told the other guy the day before that, he didn't care and became even more aggressive again stating that I would just screw up his boat. At that point I asked what my options were and he said I would have to go smaller. As I was asking my family what they wanted to do he became even more aggressive and told me that I had to tell him if I wanted it right then and there "DO YOU WANT IT, YES OR NO". I became so agitated by his rude aggressive behavior that I could not even consider spending a dime on his rental services. He would not give me time to talk, would not provide me time to discuss other options with my family. He even sounded offended that I told him I was calling to make sure I had the right place because I wanted to make sure I didn't go to any of the others that I called on but obviously picked his place to rent from but then I ran into this rude behavior when I called the next morning. I have dealt with rude people before but that guy had to be one of the worst customer service oriented people I have ever talked too. I ultimately found another place that rented me an even larger twin engine boat that my family and I enjoyed for most of the day. There are many places to rent from in Ft. Lauderdale, my suggestion is to stay away from these guys! If I had my way I would not even give them the single star but it would not let me rate this place without picking at least one...not...

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. They continue to change their names to hide from their disgusting, dangerous, and shady business practices. Formerly A1A Boat Rentals. This is the most unprofessional, irresponsible rental company I have ever worked with. They deserve ZERO stars. We rented a boat for a small group, which ended up breaking down multiple times before we could even get out of the intracoastal. The company and they told us that this boat in particular gives them problems all the time, so they brought us a second. This second boat was also faulty when it was brought to us. They "fixed" this boat again, so we made it to the Hillsboro inlet where it broke down AGAIN. We were carried into the rock wall leading out to open water, where our party sustained several injuries. NO MEDICAL KIT ONBOARD. A towing company brought us to safety while we waited for them to repair the boat AGAIN. Returning to the rental stand, it broke down ONE MORE TIME and we were thrown into a concrete wall. The mechanic took an additional 15 minutes to get to us and he admitted he had not serviced these boats in months. The office manager, Ashley was smug, disrespectful, and condescending (to say the LEAST) and shrugged everything off as "not a big deal." No one apologized or took responsibility for knowingly renting us TWO faulty, unsafe boats. They are not to be trusted. Grossly negligent.

If I could put less stars, I would. Went to celebrate a friends 30th birthday and was put in a boat that didn’t function properly. It broke down and we were stranded in the intracoastal. The company brought us a new boat, which Died immediately. They “fixed” this boat and we made it to the Hillsboro inlet where it broke AGAIN. The tide was strong and we were carried into the rocks, sustaining injuries. There was no medical kit on the boat. A towing company helped move us to safety while we waited for yet another person to fix the boat. They did and it broke down one final time on our way home and we were thrown into a concrete wall. No one apologized or took responsibility. The whole team was incompetent and condescending.
