We used to love this place but after my experience today with their online customer service, I will NEVER do business here again. Because we live out of town, I placed an online order for vanilla caramels as a Christmas gift for my father. However, when the package arrived, I was given Sea Salt Caramels. I sent 2 separate emails to their support team inquiring about the mixup and never heard a thing back. So today I thought I would give them a quick call, and let me just say how much of a mistake that was. I was told that Sea Salt Caramels are in fact vanilla caramels, even though that was not what was listed on their website when I originally placed my order. The rep told me they could issue me a credit and send me a return shipping label, which I agreed to. I asked how the return label would be sent just so I could confirm my email address, the rep seemed irritated by my question. Then I asked the process for the credit, and if they had any confirmation they could give me once the credit was processed back to my card . . . this is the response I got "I told you I would issue you the credit so that's it, is there any reason you are being so snooty??" Yep you read that right, I was called snooty for asking a simple question. A question and a process I would not have to be involved in if the company updated their website or bothered to respond to an email. He also had the audacity to tell me that the reason they didnt respond to my previous emails is because they are "busy", I get it it's Christmas and EVERYONE is busy, but so am I, and I had to take time out of my day to follow up on their mistake only to be treated with such utter disrespect. I know this review will fall on deaf ears, just like my original emails did, but I hope others see this and think twice about doing business with this company. I have never been so disappointed in a customer service experience in my life.
Also, it's been 4 hours since my conversation and still no email with my return label . . . . I have high hopes that the credit to my card will be...

Drawn by the old-fashioned storefront and the scent of caramelized sugar drifting onto the Parkway. What I found inside was a living tribute to Appalachian confectionery, handcrafted since 1939 and still going strong. The glass-enclosed kitchen is a show in itselfāwatching the candy makers stir copper kettles and hand-paddle fudge felt like stepping into a Norman Rockwell painting. I picked up a slab of peanut brittle, a box of chocolate-covered pretzels, and a jar of sourwood honey that tasted like the Smokies themselves. Every bite was rich, balanced, and made with care. The shop is packed with character: stick candy in every color, old-school candy cigars, and even Hubba Bubba bubble tape for the kid in all of us. AUNT MAHALIA'S HOMEMADE CANDIES Gatlinburg TN offers a full walkthrough of the storeās layout and history, including a look at their sourwood honey and chocolate-covered pretzels. Itās a great way to preview the experience before you goāor relive it afterward. Whether youāre stocking up on fudge, grabbing a gift, or just soaking in the nostalgia, Aunt Mahaliaās is more than a candy storeāitās a piece of Gatlinburgās soul. For me, it was a sweet solo moment that reminded me why I keep coming back to places like this: not just for the flavor, but for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI called the store around 2pm on 11/11 to inquire as to whether they had 3lbs of a certain chocolate in stock as I would be driving all the way from Knoxville after I got off work to pick some up. The woman that answered said that she "thought" they did but that she was "too busy to check right now". Before getting off the call, I verified that the closing time of 10pm listed on Google was correct... to which she replied "yeah". I drove straight from work and arrived at the door at 8:55pm to find it already locked. The older woman inside yelled at me through the glass that they had already changed over to their winter hours and closed at 9... which coincidentally was 5 minutes AFTER when I was there. When I said that I had called earlier in the day and someone verified a 10pm closing time, her response was "who told you that?"... As if knowing the first curt woman's name would've made a difference to the second one closing early even with the adjusted winter hours. Hopefully this message reaches someone that can at MINIMUM fix the hours listed on Google... and at best, temper the bad attitudes of the workers. My family has been buying your chocolates for nearly 40 years and unfortunately, dreading dealing with the store employees has become an all too consistent part of doing business with you. Do...
