I am a 33 year old black man and up until yesterday I have never felt so discriminated against in my life. I do not live in Houston but I do visit 2-3 times a year and during my stays I always go to Club Houston because we do not have bathhouses where I live or anything close to it really. I arrived at Club Houston on 09/25/23 around 4:15pm. Walked inside and greeted the crew member at the register. He looked at me and said, âyou were already here todayâ.
For context, I have never seen this man a day in my life at any visit Iâve made to Club Houston. He looked to be possibly Indian. Iâve only ever interacted with the 2 or 3 Caucasian crew members who are usually working at night and another gentleman who looks to be Spanish.
I said, âyes kind of butâŠ.â. I didnât finish my sentence, he cut me off and said âthen you cannot come inâ then proceeded to put my id back on the counter and looked me up and down. I said, âbut sir this was yesterday into today, not like a couple of hours agoâ. (I went to the bathhouse the night before and left around 2am so yes technically the same day) He responds, âit doesnât matter youâre not coming in, try tomorrowâ, looked me up and down again and walked off. I said sir I do not live here and will be flying out tonight. He said oh well and turned to help someone else. I stood in the lobby and looked around to see if there was a policy posted, there wasnât. I asked the crew member if I could speak with someone else because I felt that he was being very rude to me. He said, âitâs the policy, thereâs no one else for you to speak toâ and again turned his back to me.
I stepped away from the counter and backed up closer to the door as I waited for another associate to appear as usually I see two. I also went to Club Houston website to look for a list of policies but again, nothing. More people come in, and he assisted them. I asked him where could I see a copy of this policy he is referring to. He didnât respond, instead picked up the walkie talkie and started saying â4242â to someone and cut his eyes at me. At this point I decided to leave because I didnât know what would happen next and again, this man had been so rude to me up until this point. I said to him, âIâm going to leave now, but I would like the owners nameâ. This man looked at me and said âyou donât need anything now GET OUTâ. My mouth literally dropped. I never changed my tone, never approached this man rudely, and now heâs yelling at me. I turned to walk out and said âthis is discriminationâ and he replied ânobody is discriminating against you, you are being dramatic, now get outâ. I walked out the door and walked to the corner of street on the outside of the fence for club Houston and broke down. I have never been treated so nasty in my entire life.
Iâm not writing this review because I want a policy to be changed if it actually exist. Iâm writing this because I am truly disgusted with the experience I had and nobody should be treated like that. I have been to club Houston numerous times in the same day where Iâve maybe left at 2am and came back at 11pm in the same day. Club Houston provides each person with the time their admission expires when paying to get into. I have never been told âthis is your one admission for the dayâ. Iâm typing this 24hours and Iâm still shocked, honestly. That man talked to me and looked at me as if I was gum under his shoe.
Update: 11/19/2023 to this day I have not heard anything back from this establishment even after calling and requesting management information. So I guess the discrimination was intentional and seen as something positive by...

Been here 3 times and itâs overall a very cool place. You can rent a locker ($33) or a small room (cheapest is $38) for up to 6 hours. You can alternatively buy a 6-month pass for $40 which will drop the price of each visit by $13. Worth it after 4 visits.
Getting a room is nice just in case you meet someone who only got a locker. But theyâre pretty small and can be uncomfortable depending on your body/position. Serviceable but not the best.
When you walk in on youâll find a lounge with vending machines and behind that is the gym, a bathroom, and the locker area. Outside is the pool and jacuzzi. You can also access a shower area, sauna, and steam room from either the gym, lounge, or outdoor pool.
Upstairs are your rooms and dark play area where most of the cruising happens. It is pretty dark up there so your eyes take some time to adjust. The play area has a video room, sling, glory holes, and bed. There is also a second sauna, bathroom, and shower in the hallways.
The place is overall clean and youâll find that some areas will be closed off for cleaning and maintenance at certain points in the day. I recommend bringing slippers so you donât step on anything nasty.
Iâve had no problem with the staffs and they were efficient and helpful. Iâve locked my keys in my room twice and they were quick to help without any attitude. Only issue is that the front desk will be slow at busy times.
Speaking of which, itâs important to note that the crowd will vary based on the time and day. Itâs busy in the evening (after 5 pm) especially on weekends so thatâs the time to go if youâre looking for some action. Be warned that the parking lot is small and will be full at that time.
Weekdays during the daytimes are slower. Itâs somewhat busier during lunch hours but in general itâs chiller than weekend nights. Go here if you want to enjoy the amenities and look around at your own pace.
The people youâll meet with vary from people to people but I overall had mostly good experience (only one bad one). Condoms are available for free in your room and at the front desk. Please know your sexual health and always communicate boundaries when youâre in these types of places!
Overall Iâve mostly have had positive experiences here. Nice amenity, clean space, efficient staffs, open 24/7 with up to 6 hour stays, plus Houston guys are hot in general lol. I personally think this is safer than hooking up through apps since you are at least in a public space.
Negatives to watch out for are that the rooms/beds can be small and uncomfortable depending on what you want to do, prices may be expensive for some, parking is a pain at busy times, and just to watch out for safety/health stuff if youâre going to any place like this. The surrounding area is pretty shady so be careful if youâre walking or...
Read moreNot sure if the owner sees these online reviews, but this club is well managed, recently remodeled, very spacious, reasonably priced, and kept very clean!
That being said, maybe the management should consider offering free locker or low-price locker to youth 18-24, like other many club franchises did. with many colleges along the red line, that would certainly attract other crowds and boost traffic.
Since cell phone is not allowed take photos of the facilities, the management should upload a few of photos of the facilities to some of social media sites. (screenshot is from their website, but there are more areas not shown on their website gallery)
Their jacuzzi is very large and warm, next to the pool, and has some view over the main shower area.
The gym floor and the relaxing sofas are nice but look a bit too spacious and underutilized, maybe can shrink the gym floor and sofa area to add another maze or dark room on the first floor.
For a few days visiting the club over the long weekend at different time, the crowds seem to be unpredictable when they would come, some hot guys left during late dinner time, while others come late waiting to check at mid-night.
Big thumbs up for crews bleaching the floors, cleaning rooms, and replacing the hot waters of...
