May 26th around 9 am plus or minus. My son just graduated from Kelly School of Business. He and his girlfriend decided to move to California. Why not. My wife and I helped them by hauling one car on a trailer and all their stuff in the back of my truck. Their apartment was on Vermont and Delaware. After we got everything loaded I was not happy with the tarp and decided we needed rope. Hmmm I remembered this store where my wife and I stopped at while riding our bikes . We needed a little tool. There had it, rather pricey, but we needed it so you pay for that. So we head over there with truck and car loaded up. Soon followed on car he was driving. Note, this parking lot was just about empty. Well if you have ever pulled a trailer you know it takes planning on getting on and out. I parked right in front in the spots marked for hardware store. Went in and was asked several times if I needed help. They told me where I could get rope. I made my purchase. Walked out side door where 3 people where working on setting out mulch. I've of which I am sure was the owner or manager. Not one word was said. I started to secure my tarp better with rope I just bought. No one all to help or even talk to me. There were no cars in the area I parked. So over of them had security guard tell me to move. I said are you serious. (Actually said more words) you know like cowards and poor business men. Less then 15 minutes is what it would have taken me..... They have lost a customer f forever... Went t harbor freight just few minutes up the road. Got more for less and the rope...

All I had said was âI just need help in the hardware, all the hardware to my bed was lostâ the next thing out his mouth was âwell youâll have to do that yourselfâ I tried asking if I told him the dimensions and showed him a picture of the screw type- if he could help. He got attitude and started showing me some drawers to look at explaining that they were short handed, I said I understood but itâs kind of rude when the first thing out your mouth is âdo it yourselfâ and he said âwell thatâs what a hardware store isâ. I get that, I never asked him for to sit down for an hour going through screws. I literally just asked for some guidance. And he was incredibly rude and dismissive.
I will say Iâm a black woman and I heard him be 100 percent more polite to a white middle aged woman 10 seconds before I asked him for help. Thatâs why I went up to him, because he seemed like he wanted to help customers. Apparently only certain customers who look a certain way.
Edit-I've never seen a company take accountability like this, so I changed my...
