This is a belated five star !!!! review of our exceptional ride with Sara and Jay on July 5th. It was two of us, my husband and I, and two guides and 660 acres of pristine ranch land with creeks, mountains, and prairies, all with spectacular views, wild flowers, including those of the snow-covered Tetons and the sky. We reserved a private ride with my husband who loves the horseback riding but he is not an equestrian and I am being experienced English rider as a grownup without much experience of riding in the open and no serious riding in the past 10 years. Both of us were happy to canter/lope in the open during our ride. It was the highlight of the experience for me! We felt safe and well guided. The horses were well taken care of, they were calm and responsive and the guides were conscious of terrain and the footing. Our guides were professional and it felt amazing to experience Jackson from the saddle. These are classy, professional riding outfitters and they also offer dinner service with the ride. We chatted about the exciting locally sourced menus and their dining options and will definitely plan to do a ride with a dinner served next time, when we have an opportunity. Just do yourself a favor and book this experience right now… It was by far the best thing we did while in Jackson and it was worth every penny. Jake and his team were so knowledgeable, kind, friendly, and easy to communicate with. The horses are well taken care of and wonderful to ride. The ride and views were breathtaking the entire time. The 7 course meal that was part of the experience was delicious, fresh, innovative and all from local merchants, which made it even more special. It was honestly the best meal meal we had during our trip, and we also ate at the Aman and Snake River Grill so that’s saying a lot. What a great time! Our 2-hour ride was fun, interesting, and scenic - definitely recommended! Our horses, Doc and Bud, were perfect for our limited experience levels. And our “trail boss,” Jay, was truly amazing, with lots of talking and sharing of stories along the way.

We even had to hightail it to shelter part way through the ride when a thunderstorm popped up on us. After waiting out the rain squall and lightning, we continued on. JH Outfitting had everything well planned, with shelter along the way, just in case.

Bottom line - your absolute best option for trail rides, trail lunches, trail dinners, and back country trips in Jackson Hole. These guys are professional and fun. You could find less expensive alternatives, but nothing better than J H Outfitting! Highly...
