You're far better off walking to downtown for any meal. The service at Haydens Post was astonishingly bad. My family and I arrived around 8pm to find a mostly empty restaurant. The hostess asked us whether we wanted to sit outside or inside. We said outside, to which she responded that outside "would be a really long wait." So, she sat us inside in the corner table that only had a view of the diners outside... no view of the mountains like the tables across the room.
We sat down and opened our menus to find that we had 2 different menus among us and had no clue which was the real menu. We waited awhile for our server to greet us, but the hostesses and food runners could answer a single question about the menu while we waited. When the server finally arrived, she was unfriendly and acted as if she couldn't care less about us (later on, I spotted her counting tips, so she was probably excited to leave for the night).
We ordered beer (slow to arrive but was decent) then an appetizer (wings), followed by our entrees. It was a much longer wait than I would have expected for a mostly empty restaurant, but our entrees finally came with no sign of the wings. The foodrunners who brought the food said we'd have to ask the server about the wings. The server said she'd check on them, then disappeared again. By the time we were halfway through the meal, we asked her to bring them out if they were ready but to forget about them if they weren't close to being done. She went to check on them and never let us know, so we assumed they'd been deleted, but it would've been nice to know whether or not they were coming. Meanwhile, the foodrunner delivered my soup without a spoon, but kept walking away as I called out to him. I watched my family eat as I waited for the server to check in, but the minutes ticked by. I walked up to the bar to ask for a spoon, but the 3 employees there completely ignored me. Finally, the waitress returned and said she'd get me a spoon. It didn't arrive until after I finished my sandwich.
After our plates were cleared and taken away, we waited another very long time for her to bring the check, for which we had to call after her to bring. We left as soon as we could. Nobody talked to us on the way out.
It disgusts me that an upscale resort has such terrible dining options. If you're going to Jackson, save your money and stay somewhere else.
The best part about the whole dining experience was having cute little blue mason jars for our water. I can't believe that was the...
Read moreOn December 19 my family and I tried AGAIN to spend some quality time at the most convenient place for apre-ski @ snow king mountain.
I waited for 20 minutes at a dirty table, while the server, PURINA!!!! Continued to ignore my family (a hungry 3 year old too). After being abjectly, repeatedly, and categorically denied service, we left to have a lovely apre-experience at StillWest. Highly advise you moving down the road if you want food.
My husband and I are local. We are both service industry professionals boasting 45 years together in the industry just in Jackson. Although he is retired, I am currently running the bar at SUDA (on the square, if you want service come THERE).
My daughter grew up in haydens' post. From the time that Benchmark first took over (and RUINED) the restaurant until the seasoned staff could no longer work for such a crooked environment (c.2017) my daughter and I spent several nights a week in the very beautifully redone restaurant.
It is absolutely shameful the way the place has crumbled. There are no longer any staff with any sort of fine dining or professional service industry credentials. THE WINE MENU! Don't get me started! They have Andre and Cakebread and Jackson Wine Co instead of the beautiful and handcrafted wine menu that they started with.
There is a reason that they add automatic gratuity. Who in the hell would want to be a server there?
Benchmark has repeatedly showed that they only care to fleece the tourists and have no interest in the locals. So sad.
NO WONDER NO LOCALS GO TO...
Read moreService was slow, I asked if they had any root beer to which the waiter responded he had to check on which was fine, however it was roughly 10 minutes before I saw him walking past to serve another tables to which he stated they did have root beer....5 minutes after that I got my drink from a different waiter. The food came quickly which was great, however the burger was charred and not very tasteful. Best thing about the meal was the cornbread and the truffle fries I had as a side unfortunately. To finish the meal we had to wait at least 15 minutes for one of the staff to come ask if everything was okay, to which I was polite and said yes, and asked for a to go box and the bill. Waited for another 10 minutes and another member of the wait staff asked if everything was alright again, to which I again politely asked for the bill and a to go box. 5 minutes later I finally had my box from the second member of the waitstaff and another 5 I received the bill from the first waiter to ask if everything was okay. The wait staff was very cordial and polite, but overall was not a good experience by any means, food wasn't good and it was very slow...
