Read moreWow! Our first stay ever at a Bed & Breakfast blew us away!! My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the Huff House Inn and Cabins in Jackson Wyoming.
Location: Located in the heart of downtown Jackson, WY in a private, residential setting surround by trees and beautiful landscaping it felt like the location was not near downtown Jackson, yet is was a less than two blocks from the "City Square" where the "Nightly Shootout" occurs each night during the summer. A short 3 minute walk to all of the shops, restaurants and other downtown tourists destinations.
Bed & Breakfast Experience: I chose to call this an experience because of an ambiance that is not normally not found in hotels and other Bed & Breakfast establishments. From the moment that you walk into the door you are struck by the an understated luxury in an tasteful soft decorating scheme of the main house house grounds and cabins. Attention to every detail is very evident through out the property which is often missing in many upscale hotel chains . You can expect a warm welcome with a genuine smile from staff members who are attentive and take pride in making you comfortable.
Rooms: We stayed in the Yellowstone Cabin which was only a few steps from the main house and backyard "comfort area." The cabin had two comfortable beds which were the best beds of our entire 14 day vacation with stops in Denver, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and Yellowstone Park Lake Hotel. The cabin was huge with a gas fireplace with wall mounted cable tv, two stuffed rocking chairs, refrigerator, air conditioner/in room heater and a large extra clean and spotless bathroom with two sinks and a rain head shower.
Breakfast: Best breakfast of our entire trip. We were offered two different breakfast choices each morning which were absolutely the best of our trip beating out all of the hotel chains,(Hyatt Regency, Aria Skysuites, Grand America Hotel) that we stayed at during our vacation. The breakfast was picture perfect both in presentation and in flavors reminiscent of fine European breakfasts.
Extras: The backyard "comfort area" was a pleasant suprise as it featured a large gas/rock firepit,(lit morning and night) and a in deck heated spa. It had two large cushion outdoor sofas and many cushioned chairs. It was beautifully appointed within a garden and trees. A great place to meet, talk with other guests.
Dont' miss this Bed and Breakfast. The owner has taken the best features of hotels and other B&B's and made a premier lodging experience for those that dare to break away from the normal luxury setting. It is a hidden gem in the...
Read moreWe stayed in the Lupine Suite Cabin which was spacious, has a fireplace and gave a little extra privacy compared to the main house and the hotel type rooms. The housekeeping staff was phenomenal. They came in daily and replaced ALL the bath towels, hot tub towels, and made the beds perfectly. Robes are provided that make the walk to and from the hot tubs comfortable. Breakfast each morning was awesome... a special and classic breakfast are offered daily. The specials we had included omelets, strawberry pancakes, cinnamon role pancakes, and apple spice waffles.... they were all delicious. The lobby of the house has hot cider and chocolate out almost all day. Our room had ski boot dryers which we definitely used and a sound machine to help light-sleepers sleep. The room décor gives tribute to the local western flavor, but has the comfort and style that makes you feel like you're on vacation. Every staff member was accommodating and super friendly. Oh, and the inn has history within the community that is showcased with memorabilia and informational signs in the main house which added to our experience. (So many good things to say about this place!)
The only downside (and I feel bad even saying that, because we loved our stay) was that the express shuttle to Teton Village at Jackson Hole Ski Resort picks up about 7 blocks from this inn, which is a little far to walk with boots and skis in fresh snow. We ended up catching the Village Local bus 1.5 blocks away, but due to the many stops, it took about 40 minutes in the morning to get to Teton Village and an hour on the way back. If you're planning to drive to the ski resort, 1000% stay here, because it has everything you want and need. If you are trying to utilize the bus system, I recommend staying closer to Miller Park where the express bus picks up. Hoping that Huff House offers a shuttle/van to Miller Park one day. Like I said though, this place was overall great. We will definitely...
