Valley Bookstore — Local services in Jackson

I grew up in Jackson and going to this book store. We come back and visit every year and had a great experience. However year after year the service and people there have gotten even more miserable and unfriendly. We came in there with a little guy (2) and he was giggling and walking back and forth talking but causing no other issue other than being a little boy. We were the only ones in there as we made sure to go in at opening to avoid tons of people. I was waiting for the lady to check me out. She had just started to walk from the register when I came up. She was just watching the little guy and kept sighing very loudly and acted very inconvenienced at our presence. We came in special to help my 10 year old cousin buy a bird's of Yellowstone book she really wanted. Once the lady decided to check me out she sighed loudly again like me buying a book was just the end of her world. It was very rude. She did not acknowledge me other than to tell me the total. She did not engage with me or tell me thank you nothing. She was VERY unpleasant. I was very unhappy with the lack of service she didn't even offer to help us find the book or greet us. I will not ever suggest visitors to go there ever again. So...

This little bookstore is such a cozy, welcoming spot — exactly what you want in a small town. The shelves are full of interesting books, from classics to newer titles, and I always seem to find something unexpected when I browse.

The owner is so kind and really knows her stuff — she’s great at helping you pick out your next read or just chatting about books. You can really feel how much love has gone into making this place special.
