Just save your money! Overpriced food. You will just pay for the view that you can get by taking a scenic drive.
Why I booked a reservation and my experience.
Gondola Ride up the Mt- Disappointing
Going up the gondola ride was as disappointing because the plastic windows are scratched, fogged, and no clear visibility.
Top of the mountain view - Nature didn't disappoint the development there did.
Once we went up the gondola, there was an empty lot with a white tent and two swings which were picture worthy but thats about it.
For the type of restaurant (fine dining) and prices, you would expect a decent looking and inviting entrance to greet you at the top of the mountain, but that wasn't the case. My partner and I were disappointed. I could not tell where the entrance to the restaurant was. The actual view of nature was stunning.
Food - Disappointing is an understatement.
Steak was not cooked as requested. Ordered medium-well and came out undercooked, we had to return it to the kitchen for longer cook. Over priced and came with no sides.
Salmon was also not fully cooked surprisingly for such a thin portion, no sides. Also overpriced. Soft drinks are not refilled for free, just be aware.
Ride down views - Disappointed.
We left the restaurant around 9:30ish PM. Walking outside the restaurant is creepy, not well lit. You will experience the same riding down to the bottom of the mt. No lighting in the gondola or on as you descend, so no views if thats what you were hoping for. If you have gone to Anakeesta (Gatlingburg TN), yeah you wont get that experience/view even during the day as mentioned due to the scratched fogged up windows.
Atmosphere and service.
The restaurant was quiet. Music, I could barely hear it even thought there weren't that many tables. It took a minute to get our order in. Waitress was sweet though.
Birthday Dinner.
This place has a lot of room for improvement and tons of potential. Truly disappointed as I had done a reservation to celebrate my an bf’s birthday. Ended up paying so much and left feeling like I got so little out of my visit. I would sadly not recommend...
Read moreI don’t usually post a review but I felt strongly about my experience. I had come here during the soft opening and had the some of the best service ever and the food was incredible. Several months later I was deciding where to go for my birthday dinner and chose aurora for the views, wonderful food and outstanding service. Having said that, I would not return again after my dinner there the other night. 7:15 reservations were made several days ahead but when we arrived our table wasn’t ready and we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Then upon being seating at about 745 we didn’t have a waiter come say hi or even take a drink order for another 30 minutes. It was a busy night and I understand the stress of the wait staff but it was my birthday and now we have been waiting on the staff for an HOUR without even a beverage. The food eventually came and was as great as I remember but I had ordered a glass of wine to have with my duck dinner so when the food arrived I waited for my wine. And waited. And waited. And couldn’t even kindly flag down a waiter. I finally just didn’t want to wait for my wine and more and started on my meal then with 2 bites life out waitress retired to check in and I asked her to cancel the glass because I had wanted it with my dinner. By this time there was maybe 5 other tables of which my waitress was with 2. Not to mention, the table behind me got a candle in a small scoop of cream but I was not met with the same treatment but maybe they just don’t do that here and that party brought their own. Over all excellent food. Worst service ever. I will not be returning which I am very sad about because this is such a...
Read moreWe recently dined at Aurora Snow King, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish! What better way to start the night off, but with a fun gondola ride up the mountain, to look over the town! Once inside, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of cozy and modern elegance. Jasper, the waiter, was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable.
Now, let's talk about the food—simply outstanding! The fondue was rich, creamy, and indulgent, with the perfect balance of flavors. Every dip of bread and fresh vegetables into the molten cheese was pure heaven.
Then came the ribollita, and wow—what a comforting and flavorful dish! The hearty soup was packed with fresh vegetables, beans, and perfectly seasoned broth, creating a rustic and satisfying bowl of goodness. Each spoonful felt like a warm hug, bursting with depth and authenticity.
Just when I thought the meal couldn't get any better, dessert arrived—and it was a showstopper. The Baked Alaska was a masterpiece, with a beautifully torched meringue encasing luscious ice cream and cake, creating the perfect balance of textures and flavors. The butterscotch pudding was equally incredible—silky smooth, rich, and perfectly sweet with a deep caramelized flavor that left me savoring every bite.
From start to finish, everything was prepared with love and attention to detail. If you're looking for a restaurant that serves incredible food with a welcoming atmosphere, look no further than Aurora Snow King. We can’t...
